When big tech companies meet, you know it’s going to be fun…and when they meet in a city like Las Vegas, you know that everyone else in attendance will have fun too! With launches big and small, Day 1 of the Consumer Electronics Show was replete with “ooh”s and “ah”s as the attendees were left mesmerized with the kind of cool stuff on display. Let’s bring you up to speed on some of the interesting launches that Day 1 of the CES saw:

  • Onagofly Nano Drone

Our seemingly unending obsession with drones was intensified by the Onagofly Nano Drone. Produced with the help of crowd funding on Indiegogo, this 5” drone boasts of some pretty cool features like live streaming by its 15MP camera, and obstacle avoidance.

With the ONAGOfly APP, the user can control the drone, sync videos and photos, and also set up an auto-follow feature! Oh, and the $300 drone also auto detects and captures smiling faces!

  • Immersit

With virtual reality taking over all aspects of gaming, Immersit takes you on a thrilling journey with its furniture add on that promises to give you a real 4D experience as you watch action films or play racing games. With a tentative availability date set at the last quarter of 2016, the Immersit module can be coupled with Virtual reality goggles to make your gaming or media experience even more exciting. Now this will be one couch that will not turn you into a potato!

A gaming option that will give Alienware a run for their money, this all-in-one brilliant desktop sports a 34″ 3440 x1440 QHD Curved Display, which will make gaming a dazzling experience, especially if you choose to get the highly powered NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN X graphics card. Highly customizable, the user can get this Omni fitted with the Intel Core i7 or an Intel XEON E5. The gaming geek will appreciate 32GB DDR4 RAM support on this beast. To be made available by March, this gaming computer will most likely be priced at around $2000.

As mentioned earlier, we are obsessed with anything that we can fly without needing a pilot’s license. With a flight time of around 45 minutes, this beauty can automatically take-off and land, with a GPS return home feature. The front of the drone incorporates a FullHD 1080P camera with live streaming ability. It has “loiter” and “autopilot” modes as well as manual mode which can be controlled using the Skycontroller or the Flight Plan app. This is one Parrot that we’d love to see disco, wouldn’t we!?

Right out of some sci-fi movie, this fridge lights up from the inside when you knock on the door, saving you the effort of opening the fried door to check its contents. Got a bag of groceries in one hand and a crying baby in another? Simply use your feet to activate the smart sensor, and the door will open! Talk about a Smart fridge, eh?

If you are a rich, correction, very rich photography enthusiast, then you may want to get your hands on the Nikon D5 which boasts of a light sensitivity of ISO 3,280,000! Priced at $6,500, this camera can take extremely clear pictures of fast moving objects in really dim light!
