American action camera company GoPro launched the Hero 6 a few weeks ago. Following that, the company now has slashed the prices for its Hero 5 series action cams in India. Previously available for Rs 38,000, it now retails for Rs 26,990 on Flipkart and around Rs 28,000 on Amazon.in. That’s a huge price cut of over 10 grand.

This makes the Hero 5 a viable option for sports enthusiasts. The Hero 5 features a standalone water resistance up to 33 feet without the need of an external casing. Hero 5 Black features a 12-megapixel sensor with wide-angle lens. It boasts of 4K video recording at 30 fps. It offers a simple one-button control for recording and taking snaps. You get a colour display at the back to review your pictures and videos instantly. Accompanying it, is a monochrome panel at the front which provides a quick glance over the active camera mode, battery indicator, and storage.

The Hero 5 also features a GPS overlay function which can be added to your videos which displays various parameters like speed, recline angle, and time.

Furthermore, the Hero 5 gets voice enable features wherein you can command “GoPro start recording” and it will happily oblige. Videos captured with the GoPro cameras can be edited and shared through the companion phone app. You can also use it to control GoPro remotely.
