Earlier this week, Google launched its novel Pixel 7 series in the Indian market. The series will have Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, it is the first time after 2018 when the tech giant is unveiling its Pro models in the country. After Pixel 3, the brand was only offering the mid-segment A-series of the flagship models in India. Now, Google is once again trying to get back to capture the flagship user base.

Moving towards the chipset, the Pixel 7 duo will draw its power from the all-new 2nd-gen Google Tensor G2 processor. The brand is offering a higher refresh rate of up to 120Hz, an optical setup with a main sensor of up to 50MP, and up to 12 gigs of memory.

Google Pixel 7: Key specs & features

Starting with the younger sibling, Google Pixel 7 will greet you with a 6.3” AMOLED panel that will produce FHD+ resolution. The display will also support up to 90Hz refresh rate with a punch-hole cutout for optical housing. Powered by Tensor G2, the Pixel 7 will house a 4,355 mAh battery unit.

In terms of camera setup, the front will be equipped with a 11.1MP sensor. The rear will have a raised bar that will house a dual-camera module with primary 50-megapixel sensor paired with 12MP ultrawide. The main sensor will also have OIS support.

Google Pixel 7 Pro: Key specs & features

Unlike the non-pro Pixel 7, the Pro will have slightly curved edges on the screen. The 6.7” LTPO AMOLED panel on the Pixel 7 Pro will produce QHD+ resolution with a pixel count of 1440*3210. The screen will support a higher refresh rate of up to 120Hz. At its core, the chipset will remain the same Tensor G2, whereas the battery capacity will get bumped up to 5,000mAh.

Moving to the optical setup, Pixel 7 Pro will come with an identical selfie snapper and a triple-camera setup on the rear. The main sensor will be a 50-megapixel lens (with OIS support), an ultra-wide 12MP sensor, and 48MP telephoto lens with 30x zoom support.

Coming to a few similarities between the two variants, the Pixel 7 lineup will boot on Android 13. The brand claims to offer 5 years of security updates and 3 years of major OS updates. Google has also put its focus on security, it is offering Titan M2 for a much better protection along with an integrated VPN feature.

The duo will sport up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage paired with up to 12GB RAM. The smartphones will also support fast charging up to 30W. Few connectivity features on the Pixel 7 duo are WiFi 6, 5G support, Wireless Charging, UWB, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, USB Type-C, BT 5.2, and stereo sound output. Both the models will get a Gorilla Glass Vicus sandwich protection along with IP68 water and dust resistance.

Pricing and availability

The regular Pixel 7 will be available in three color options; Lemongrass, Obsidian Black, and Snow. For the Pro model, the color options will be Hazel, Obsidian Black, and Snow. Moving to the price tag, the younger sibling will have the memory and storage combination of 8GB/128GB priced at ₹59,999. Pixel 7 Pro will get a 12GB/256GB combination and will retail at ₹84,999. The pre-order window has been open since October 6, however, the first sale will commence on October 13.

In terms of offers, the HDFC Bank cardholders will get a flat discount of ₹11,250 on the Pro and ₹7,250 on the regular Pixel 7. There will also be an added exchange bonus of up to ₹3,750. All these offers applied, the price tag will come down to ₹49,999 and ₹69,999 for Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, respectively.

Both the devices will be available to buy through Flipkart and the e-commerce platform is offering priority delivery to all the buyers. The launch offer will also include a huge discount on Pixel Buds A lineup and Fitbit Inspire 2 at an updated price of ₹5,999 and ₹4,999, respectively. The brand is also offering one-time screen replacement to all the Pixel 7 owners.
