
Google I/O 2022: Here’s Everything You Need To Know From Pixel Watch To Pixel 7 Series
At its recent event, Google has unveiled a range of Pixel devices that were circling around in the form of rumored renders for quite a time now. Google I/O 2022 has announced the debut products, Pixel Watch and Pixel Tablet. Along with it, the US-based tech giant also unveiled its upcoming Pixel 7 lineup. There will also be a Pixel 6a that the brand will launch this summer. The design language highly resembles the existing Pixel 6 series. The company also announced the Pixel Buds Pro that are basically next in line with the Pixel Buds. There are no details regarding the Indian availability, however, Google stated that the Pixel 6a will be on sale in India in later 2022.

Google Pixel 6A
The most anticipated device of the year, Google Pixel 6a will be powered by Tensor M2, the brand’s in-house SoC. According to the brand, the upcoming affordable smartphone will basically be a lite version of Pixel 6’s standard and Pro variants. With all the essential features onboard, Pixel 6a will come with a price tag of $449 (roughly ₹34,700).
Talking about the Pixel 6a, it will sport an OLED 6.1” panel that will produce FHD+ resolution. The screen will support a refresh rate of 60Hz. Google is offering Gorilla Glass 3 screen protection with an integrated fingerprint sensor. The SoC will come paired with 128GB of onboard storage and 6GB memory.
Moving to the optical module, the dual-camera module will house a primary 12.2-megapixel sensor for standard shots paired with a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. On the front, the punch hole will house an 8-megapixel sensor. Though there are no details regarding the fast charging speed, the Pixel 6a will house a 4,410 mAh battery unit.
Google Pixel 7 Lineup
At the Google I/O 2022, the brand has unveiled that the Pixel 7 lineup with standard and Pro variants will launch next year. These next-gen devices will boot up with Android 13 out of the box along with an updated Tensor chip. The announcement regarding the chipset translates to the fact that it will get OS updates for the next 4 years.
As per the renders shared by the brand at I/O 2022, the camera module is completely aluminum with sensors placed horizontally. The difference between the standard and the Pro model will be the number of rear camera sensors, it will be a triple and dual camera module on the Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7, respectively. The camera bump will have a cutout for a number of sensors. The pictures shown at the event portrays two color options; Olive Green and Gray. There is no clarification on the pricing and availability.
Google Pixel Watch
The Pixel Watch will be the debut wearable device from the house of Google. The watch will boot with Google’s own Wear OS. The design language here is quite unique with a metallic chassis and crown, the dial will be a circular one with minimal bezels. There is a button present on the edge, however, the functionality isn’t yet disclosed by Google.
Though Google has stated that the smartwatch will go on sale this fall, there is no specific detail yet shared. The key aspect revealed by Google is that the all-new Pixel Watch will come with a deep integration of Fitbit’s fitness and health features.
Having said that, it is speculated that it will feature a heart-rate sensor, blood-oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking, and various other health features. Google will put its highly efficient and capable AI to use. On the Fitbit Versa and Band 5, there are high chances of an update that will show Stress Management Score (SMC) on a daily basis.
Google Pixel Buds Pro
With quite advanced noise cancellation, the Pixel Buds Pro will offer users a 6-core audio processing unit that will make use of custom algo for ANC. These buds are next in line with Google Buds-A. The earbuds will adapt accordingly to the user’s ear and it will be quite helpful in clearing out the extra noise and making ANC even better, the brand has named it Silent Seal feature.
Digging a bit deeper into technicalities, the all-new Pixel Buds Pro will sport 11mm drivers, support for spatial audio, IPX4 water resistance, auto volume adjustment, and a 5-band EQ. The charging case that you will get will also come with IPX2 certification.
With continuous music playback on ANC, the Pixel Buds Pro will last a total of 7 hours. On turning it off, the earbuds will last much longer, 11 hours. When we combine the times with the case, users will get a total of 20 hours with ANC on and 31 hours on normal use. Google is also offering wireless charging of the earbuds. There will be a total of four color options; Lemongrass, Charcoal, Fog, and Coral. The first sale will commence on July 21 with a price tag of $199.99 (roughly ₹15,500).
Google Pixel Tablet
The first look of the Pixel Tablet is also revealed by Google at its I/O 2022. The tablet comes with thick bezels on all the sides and there are no details shared as of now. It is clear that the tablet will sport a modified Tensor chip. The rendors reveal that the tablet will be quite thick with a single camera setup on the rear. On the software front, the tablet will boot on Android L and will be launched somewhere in the next year. Android L is specifically designed for foldables and tablets.
