The search engine mogul Google has finally unveiled its Pixel 6a plans for the Indian market. The smartphone will come next in line with the 2020’s Pixel 4a that was a perfect-sized device for a number of users. Alongside Pixel 6a, the brand has also announced the latest Pixel Buds Pro for India.

It was in May when both the said devices were unveiled at Google’s I/O. The smartphone and the TWS earbuds are launched under the premium category with a top-notch spec-sheet. Let’s take a look at the specs and features of both the devices.

Google Pixel 6a: Key specs & features

On the 6.1” OLED panel of the Google Pixel 6a, users will get a punch hole cutout and the screen will produce a FHD+ resolution. The front sports a Gorilla Glass 3 shield with an under-display fingerprint scanner. In terms of design language, the glass back with horizontal camera array is brought over from the Pixel 6 lineup. The elevated bridge will house a dual camera system and the device will come with IP67 certification to keep it water and dust resistant.

Talking about the optical setup, Pixel 6a will have a primary 12.2MP sensor with support for optical image stabilization. The main sensor will be accompanied by an ultra-wide lens of 12MP. On the front, the punch-hole will house the 8 megapixel front camera. The camera app will offer features like magic eraser, 4K video recording, face unblur, and much more.

At its core, Google Pixel 6a will come with the Tensor chip. The SoC is developed by Google itself and on Pixel 6a, the brand is offering it with 128 GB of onboard storage and 6 gigs of LPDDR5 memory. Google is also offering Titan M2 for enhanced security of the smartphone. Google is offering quick charging support with a battery capacity of 4,306 mAh. The smartphone will boot on Android 12 operating system with a promise of security updates for up to 5 years.

A few connectivity features are Wi-Fi 6E, dualSIM, 5G connectivity, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a 3.5mm audio port.

Google Pixel Buds Pro: Key specs & features

In the TWS lineup of earbuds from Google, the all-new Pixel Buds Pro will be on the top of the spectrum. It will also be the debut earbuds from the brand to sport ANC. The design language will remain to be the same as the earlier Pixel Buds where the brand was offering dual-tone color scheme and the in-ear design. These earbuds will sport the IPX4 water resistance certification.

Digging a bit deeper, the 6-core audio chip paired with 11mm drivers on the Buds Pro will come with the in-ear design that will take the shape of the user’s ears to offer an utmost level of noise cancellation. Like the AirPods Pro, Google is also offering a transparency feature that users can turn on to stay aware. Google is also claiming to offer support for spatial audio by 2023 through an OTA update. Few features that are worth mentioning are multi-device connectivity, real-time translation, touch controls, and more. Google claims to offer a battery life of 7 hours with noise cancellation and 11 hours on regular use.

Pricing and availability

The latest addition to the Pixel series, the Pixel 6a will be offered in two color options; Charcoal and Chalk. The smartphone will go on a retail price of ₹43,999, however, Google is offering an instant ₹4,000 off for Axis Bank cardholders. Google’s TWS Pixel Buds Pro will be available in four color variants; Charcoal, Lemongrass, Coral, and Fog. The earbuds will come with a price tag of ₹19,999. The first sale will commence on July 28 through e-commerce giant Flipkart.
