Gionee recently took to Weibo to tease its next smartphone, Gionee M7. The event will be held in China, and the M7 will be Gionee’s first smartphone with almost no bezels. Gionee surely doesn’t want to be left out in the bezel-less phone party.
While the Galaxy S8 and the iPhone X fall in the topmost end of the spectrum, Gionee is challenging the likes of Huawei, Xiaomi, and Vivo. Despite being a flagship phone of Gionee, the M7 will belong to the mid-range price segment.
As per the speculations, the Gionee M7 is expected to feature a big 6-inch Full HD+ display with 2160 x 1080 pixels. Powering the device is a mid-range Mediatek Helio P30. It features an octa-core CPU with eight ARM Cortex A53 cores which can operate at 2.5 GHz. It is also said to pack-in 6 GB RAM and 64 GB on-board storage. The graphics duties are handled by the Mali-G71 MP2.
The phone is like to feature a metal frame sandwiched between glass. The phone will boast of a 16 MP dual-lens camera setup. However, the selfie camera specs are unknown at this point.
There’s no hint about the M7’s pricing. However, considering that Vivo’s V7+ with similar specifications retails Under Rs 25,000, Gionee has no option but to compete with it.
