Gionee, the Chinese brand is having a busy week. Right after the M7, the company has now announced the Steel 2 Plus handset. This handset brings thin-bezels design at a budget price.
Compared to the Steel 2, the new Plus model fares better in terms of aesthetics. It sports a 6-inch display with HD+ resolution. It packs in more power with an octa-core Snapdragon 435 SoC replacing the Mediatek MT6737 found in the Steel 2. The RAM is also bumped up to 4 GB. The phone comes with 64 GB internal storage.
The rear camera on the Gionee Steel 2 Plus is a 13 MP single lens unit accompanied by an LED flash. For selfies, Gionee has thrown-in an 8 MP front-facing shooter. The Gionee Steel 2 does not miss out on a fingerprint sensor. To keep the device powered on, Gionee has opted for a massive 5000 mAh battery. Working in tandem with a power-efficient processor, the battery can offer some impressive backup.
The Gionee Steel 2 Plus is launched in China with a price tag of CNY 1999 which is approximately Rs 20,000. It comes in Black, Blue and Gold. If launched in India, the handset will have to compete with the likes of LG’s Q6+ and the Vivo V7+.
