Gigabyte has finally unveiled its latest G5 series of gaming laptops in the Indian market. The tech giant primarily focuses on a wide range of PC peripherals, however, with the new G5 series (G5 GD, G5 MD, and G5 KD), Gigabyte is unlocking new horizons for its laptop portfolio.

The three variants that are launched by Gigabyte under G5 series will boast of a similar spec sheet, with GPU being the only distinction. Let’s take a deeper dive to know more about the lineup.

Gigabyte G5 Series: Key specs & features

The latest addition to the Gigabyte gaming laptop lineup under the G5 series will get a 15.6” display and it will produce FHD+ resolution. The IPS LCD panel on these machines will attain a peak brightness of 300 nits and the refresh rate will go up to 144Hz. The laptops will come equipped with full-zone backlit keyboard and on the audio front, Gigabyte is offering a dual set of 2W drivers paired with AI noise cancellation for mics. The system comes powered by top notch DTS:X tech.

Going a bit deeper, Gigabyte G5 series will come with Intel’s 11th-gen Core i5 processor and the onboard graphics card will be RTX 3050 on G5 MD, RTX 3050Ti on G5 MD, and RTX 3060 on G5 KD. Moving further, the CPU will get paired with 16 gigs of memory and 512 GB of NVMe SSD storage solution. Apart from this, laptops will come with swappable M.2 slots that will allow storage expansion up to 6TB. Gigabyte is using the Windforce cooling mechanism that will make it highly efficient up to 150W.

The all-new G5 Gaming laptops will house 48.9Wh battery, the younger siblings G5 MD and GD, will support 150W fast charging. The G5 KD will support charging speeds up to 180W. Few onboard connectivity options are Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi 6, USB Type-C, 3x USB Type-A ports, a 3.5mm combo jack, an HDMI port, and a card reader.

Pricing and availability

The all-new Gigabyte G5 lineup will be officially on sale through Flipkart in India. The G5 GD will be available at a retail price of ₹68,990, whereas the elder siblings G5 MD and G5 KD will go on sale at ₹71,890 and ₹83,890, respectively.
