Garmin has launched a new smartwatch – the Garmin Instinct smartwatch in India. The GPS-enabled rugged smartwatch will be available in Garmin’s authorised stores and select Helios stores. It will be also available for sale through online e-commerce platforms such as Amazon India, Paytm Mall, and The Garmin Store. The price of the Garmin Instinct smartwatch in India would be Rs. 26,990. As for the colour options, it will be available in Flame Red, Graphite, and Tundra. Due to its rugged build featuring a US Military rating for its durability, the watch will have a strong selling proposition in India. The smartwatch will also sport a barometric altimeter, a 3-axis compass, and support for multiple GPS networks.

The Garmin Instinct sports a fibre-reinforced polymer case. The case coupled with its thermal, shock, and water resistance gives it a US MIL-STD-810G rating. The smartwatch is equipped with an inbuilt 3-axis compass and barometric altimeter as well as multiple global navigation satellite systems (GPS, GLONASS and Galileo) support. The global navigation satellite systems support enables the device to track location in challenging environments compared to just GPS alone. Its wrist-based heart rate monitor is also a key USP.

“We are excited to introduce Instinct as India’s first ‘lifestyle watch’ for the people who wish to have an approachable smartwatch that is rugged and reliable,” said Ali Rizvi, National Sales Manager-Garmin India.

The Garmin Instinct smartwatch comes with multiple sports modes such as running, cycling, swimming, climbing, skiing, rowing, weightlifting and yoga.

“Built on US military standard 810G (MIL-STD-810G) for thermal, shock and water resistance, the watch holds all the technologically advanced features for the people who love to explore outdoor experiences,” Rizvi added.

The watch can be paired with any smartphone and Garmin Connect online fitness community to enable users with automatic uploads, live tracking, and the GroupTrack feature.
