Fitbit, one of the leaders in wearable devices, has launched its latest and most advanced fitness tracker named “Charge 3” in India.

The fitness tracker will be available from November this year in India. The Charge 3 features swim-proof design and is available for Rs. 14,999. The fitness tracker comes with up to seven days battery life.

The Charge 3 features a touch-screen display. The fitness tracker comes with more than 15 goal-based exercise modes. Its essential smart features enable the users using the device to stay connected. The tracker contains the most advanced sensor and algorithm technology that has yet been created by Fitbit.

The build of the Charge 3 is light. It has been created using lightweight material including an aerospace grade aluminium case. Its Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display helps to safeguard it against a fall. The wearable fitness tracker is around 40% larger and brighter than its previous versions. The device comes with an inductive button which provides a streamlined, swim-proof design and extra space to accommodate more sensors and a larger battery if required. The Charge 3 makes such provisions due to its new patent-pending technology.

The company claims that it has given as much importance to the software aspects as it has to the aesthetics and hardware. The tracker has a redesigned software that shows grayscale graphics with new animations. The fitness tracker has augmented its 24/7 PurePulse heart rate technology which ensures more accurate measurements during exercise as compared to the Charge 2.

The Charge 3 also provides a better and more accurate measurement of the calories burnt and resting heart rate to optimize workouts and discover and unveil health trends. The device also packs in an additional SpO2 sensor, which can estimate relative blood oxygen levels and help track new health indicators such as sleep apnea.

The wearable fitness tracker Fitbit Charge 3 connects seamlessly and can be paired with both iOS and Android devices. Fitbit has claimed that the company will introduce Windows support soon.

“With Charge 3, we are building on the success of our best-selling Charge franchise and delivering the most innovative tracker in the market, offering an extremely slim, comfortable and premium design along with the advanced health and fitness features that our users want. Our commitment to consumer choice and ability to meet the demand of millions of users by offering a range of products, from trackers to smartwatches, enables us to continue to expand our share of the overall wearables market,” said James Park, co-founder and CEO of Fitbit.

Fitbit Charge 3 will be available across major retail outlets such as Reliance Digital, Croma, and Helios among others. It will also be available online on Amazon and Flipkart.  The fitness tracker has been introduced in two colour options namely black colour which comes with graphite aluminium case, and blue grey shade with rose gold aluminium case. Fitbit is also bringing accessories bands to India with the Classic Band priced at Rs 2,990, Woven Band priced at Rs 3,490 and Leather Band at Rs 4,490.

Charge 3 enjoys a special lineage with reputed predecessors from Fitbit’s Charge stable. The “Charge” series is the company’s most popular product line-up and has sold more than 35 million devices till date. If estimates from technology research firm IDC is any indication, shipments of fitness trackers will continue to comprise a significant portion of the overall category of wearables for the next several years.
