Dell has launched new laptops in its Inspiron, XPS and Vostro series ahead of IFA 2018. The company has announced the launch of its first Inspiron Chromebook. It has also announced the new Dell 27 USB-C Ultrathin Monitor, and a line of SE monitors for catering to the regular and everyday computing needs. Some of these products may be available immediately and some will not be available for purchase before January 2019.

The Inspiron 7000 2-in 1s come in three variants with display screens of 13-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch respectively. The devices are powered by Intel 8th Generation U Series processors with up to 16GB of RAM, up to 4K UHD screens, and up to Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics card. The 15-inch and 17-inch variants also boast of the Intel Optane Memory.

The Inspiron 7000 is believed to pack in a sleek design with aluminium body. It has a three-sided narrow border that leads to a 2.7mm mini webcam. The laptop comes with hidden vents for thermal flow, and the 4-element lens webcam facilitates better quality images in low-light and enables temporal noise reduction. The device comes with a fingerprint reader for enhanced security. Its connectivity options include USB Type-C port and Active Pen support. The Inspiron 7000 is expected to receive Alexa support later this year. The Inspiron 7000 2-in-1s will be available for purchase on October 2 in US and Canada. The 13-inch variant will come at a starting price of $879.99 which converts to around Rs.62000.  The 15-inch variant comes at around $849.99 which translates to around Rs. 59,000 and the 17-inch variant will be available for $1,099.99 which works out to around Rs. 77,400. The special 15-inch Abyss Black variant with UHD screen will come with a price tag of $1,249.99, which is equivalent to around Rs.88,000.

As for the 14-inch Inspiron 5000 2-in-1, the device is offered in two versions namely model numbers 5481 and 5482. Both are powered by the Intel 8th Generation U Series processors. The 5482 model comes with an additional USB Type-C port and Nvidia GeForce MX130 graphics card. The 5481 model offers a full-size HDMI port, SD card reader, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, and one USB 2.0 port for seamless connectivity. The device comes with the option of Windows 10 in S mode in certain regions. Like the Inspiron 7000 series, the Inspiron 5000 too packs in features such as thermal routing and narrow borders. The laptops will be available for sale from October 2 in North America. Model 5481 and 5482 will be available at a price tag of $459.99 (which is roughly Rs. 32,300) and $599.99 (which is equal to Rs. 42,200) respectively.

Dell has also announced the 14-inch Inspiron Chromebook 2-in-1. It is the first ever premium Chromebook from the Inspiron series. The device features a full-HD IPS display. It comes with an aluminium body and is outlined by narrow bezels. As per claims, the laptop battery can last for up to 15 hours in a single charge.

The Dell Chromebook comes with support for Google Play. It is powered by Intel 8th Generation i3-8130U CPU. It packs in up to 128GB of in-built storage and runs Chrome OS. The Chromebook packs in a 360-degree hinge which is characteristic of any 2-in-1. As for its connectivity, it seamlessly supports USB Type-C port, and comes with a backlit keyboard. The Dell Inspiron Chromebook 14-inch 2-in-1 will be available for sale in North America on October 23. It will come with a price starting $599, which converts to around Rs. 42,200.

The Dell XPS 13 and the Developer Edition have also been enhanced with Intel 8th Generation Core i3 processor. The Developer Edition is now available with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (long-term support). This update provides support for up to five years.

The standard XPS 13 comes with Dynamic Power Mode and offers up to 15 hours of battery life in a single charge. It packs in an UltraSharp QHD+ InfinityEdge touch display. As for its price, the XPS 13 Developer Edition can be bought now in the US at a starting price of $949.99 or roughly Rs. 66,900. The laptop will soon be available in markets such as Canada and Europe. The XPS 13 with Core i3 will be available in the US from August 28 at a starting price of $899.99 which roughly converts to Rs. 63,400. The XPS 13 2-in-1 with Intel 8th Generation processors can be bought in the US at a price of $999.99 or around Rs. 70,400 from September 11.

Dell has also launched the new Vostro 14 5000 and Vostro 15 5000 laptops and has expanded its portfolio in the Vostro series. The laptops include 8th Generation Intel Core processors which is coupled with up to 32GB of DDR4 memory. The laptop comes with Nvidia GeForce MX130 graphics, and optional Intel Optane memory. It comes with a USB Type-C port, and an optional Single-Sign-On fingerprint reader. The company has offered hardware TPM (Trusted Platform Module) 2.0 with the laptop. It enables commercial-grade protection and storage for encryption keys to verify a device, and Bitlocker to configure security settings. The Dell Vostro 14 and 15 5000 laptops will start selling at a price of $499.99 which is around Rs. 35,200. It will be available in North America from November 9 and January 2 respectively.

The company has also launched the 27-inch USB-C Ultrathin Monitor with up to 600 nits peak brightness. The device comes with a premium HDR monitor with VESA-certified Display HDR 600 and integrated with Corning Iris Glass light-guide plate (LGP) technology. As for its connectivity, the device seamlessly connects via a USB Type-C connector. It sports an InfinityEdge design, and a Silver Satin finish. It is already available in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia, and will go on sale in North America from September 20 at a starting price of $549.99, which converts to around Rs. 38,700.

Along with the series, Dell also plans to launch a new line of Dell SE Monitors with FHD resolution (SE2219H, SE2419H and SE2719H). The variants come in three display sizes – 21.5-inch, 23.8-inch and 27-inch. It is built with an IPS panel. The monitors also come with key features such as flicker-free tech, low-haze screen atop a compact, and a space-saving base. The Dell 21.5-inch, 23.8-inch and 27-inch SE Monitors will be available in North America, Asia, Australia, Europe and Africa. It can be purchased at $169.99 (around Rs. 11,900), $199.99 (approximately Rs. 14,000) and $249.99 (roughly Rs. 17,500) respectively from September 25 onwards.
