In an annual refresh, Dell has launched a new iteration of the ever popular XPS 15. A premium 15-inch notebook in India that competes with the MacBook Pro. It comes with a virtually borderless ‘Infinity Edge’ display, which allows the XPS 15 to pack in a stunning 15.6-inch screen into a 14-inch form factor. This is much like today’s smartphones with very thin bezels.
The machine is powered by Intel’s 7th Generation Core i7-7700HQ Quad-Core processor. The processor can crunch numbers at up to 3.8 GHz. The XPS 15 offers the powerful gaming grade NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 4GB GDDR5 graphics. Despite all this raw power, it weighs only 1.8 kg. It is also quite slim with 17 mm at its thickest point.
Raising the convenience factor a notch higher it comes equipped with a backlit keyboard and precision touchpad, with fluid panning, pinching and zooming. The palm rest of the device is made from carbon fiber material which is known for its light weight nature and durability.
The device supports stereo speaker, dual microphones, and High-Definition Audio. It sports a Thunderbolt 3 multi-use port allowing users to charge the laptop and connect to multiple devices. Video editors and gamers need not fret, as the laptop can power up to two 4K displays. The design innovation and raw power comes at hefty price, as the XPS 15 is priced at Rs 1, 17,990.
