“Spoilt for choice”, reaches a whole new level when it comes to the smartphone market. There was once a time when only Nokia, Motorola, or BlackBerry was spotted in everybody’s hands. However, with tech giants realising the profit potential of such a product, we consumers find ourselves flooded with tens of new smartphone every fortnight and this leads to confusion. Recently, Coolpad got a limelight, all credits to its newly launched Note 3 plus! But, is it worth buying? We, at CompareRaja, use a simple formula! Compare and buy smart! So, let’s compare Coolpad Note 3 plus with Lenovo’s Vibe K5 Plus neck-to-neck and find out which one is made for you.

Price

First things first; the Lenovo launch comes with a price tag of INR 8,499 while the Coolpad will be available exclusively on Amazon India from May 13 for INR 8,999. Not much difference here, so the price tag shouldn’t be your deal clincher. Both are affordable smartphones, primarily because both are trying to mark a significant place for themselves in the budget smartphone segment.

Display

Coming to how shiny and bright the phones in question look… Coolpad sports a cool 5.5” screen with full HD resolution. Lenovo too sports the same resolution albeit on a smaller screen of 5”. So, if you’re looking for a slightly bigger screen then Coolpad is a better idea but if a better pixel density is your criteria then the K5 Plus is the better option.

Processor

What powers the phone and how efficiently it multitasks is another crucial factor about any smartphone. On this front, the Coolpad Note 3+ comes equipped with an Octa-core MediaTek 6753 processor that clocks a speed of 1.3GHz and is accompanied by 3GB of RAM. The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus comes with the 616 Snapdragon processor which clocks a speed of 1.5GHz and has 2GB of RAM. Both the smartphones will help you in smooth multitasking and app switching. However, the Coolpad smartphone comes with up to 64GB of expandable memory whereas the Lenovo one has only 32GB.

Camera

Every smartphone user knows the significance of a good camera; after all, what’s a smartphone if it can’t take Snapchat worthy pictures, right? The means to this end is the 13MP primary and 8MP secondary camera incorporated in the Coolpad, and the 13MP primary and 5MP secondary camera on the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus. The quality of the clicks cannot be determined by the megapixels alone, but it does act as one of the important ones, and so the Coolpad wins on this front.

Connectivity

The Coolpad Note 3 Plus & Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus support dual SIM and LTE connectivity. Running on Android Lollipop, both the smartphones will have soon been munching on Marshmallows as soon as the update is made available.

What’s unique?

A factor that works in the favour of Coolpad is its inclusion of a fingerprint sensor, a new-age feature that the K5 Plus  unfortunately lacks. On the other hand, Lenovo has given relatively better attention to the K5 Plus appearance which makes it look more appealing than the Coolpad product.

For all you visual beasts, here is a small table of comparison:
