COOLPAD NOTE 3 LITE Vs RELIANCE LYF WIND 5

In the war between Smartphones, we have a new battle every day. This time, our two brave warriors include LYF Wind 5 & Coolpad’s Note 3 Lite. With both clamouring for attention from the budget buyers, we thought we’ll cut through all the noise and help you gauge which one’s better- do you need to fly with the wind or is the Coolpad ‘noteworthy’? Let’s find out.

DISPLAY & DESIGN

Entering the Reliance LYF ecosystem is the Wind 5, sporting a 5” HD touch screen that ensures that all your images and videos appear as sharp and shiny as possible. Same goes for Coolpad’s Note 3Lite, which sports the same screen. Reliance seems to have cut costs on the design as the Wind 5doesn’t appeal to the eyes as much it appeals to the wallet. The Note 3 Lite, on the other hand, looks much better with an anti-slip elegant cover. Here, the Note 3 Lite is cooler. Hands down.

HARDWARE

Both the Smartphones sport a quad-core MediaTek processor which does not amount to much of a difference. What does matter here is, the RAM that each phone incorporates. The Coolpad has gone the distance and included a massive 3GB of RAM while the Wind 5 hope to suffice with 1GB RAM. If you are looking for a device that can keep up while you multitask, then Coolpad is a better choice. If you have a Smartphone, you obviously will be downloading many apps. For this, the 16GB internal storage of the Note 3 Lite is better than LYF’s 8GB. Word on the expandable memory for the Wind 5 isn’t out yet, so we cannot compare the two phones on that.

CAMERA

What’s a phone unless it’s also a camera? To indulge you in your Snap chatting needs, the Wind 5 has an 8MP primary snapper while the 5MP front camera is good for your video chats and selfie collection. However, once again, the Coolpad product trumps Reliance’s. The Note 3 Lite comes with a superior 13MP primary camera, while the front one remains the same as the one in Wind 5.

OPERATING SYSTEM

Both the Smartphones ride on the Android bandwagon, with Lollipop their iteration of choice. So no real battle here, move on folks.

BATTERY POWER

Not much of a difference here, seeing how most of us carry a power bank with us anyway. The 500mAh difference can be easily overlooked as even 2500mAh is not too big a power capacity to brag about!

With the price difference being only Rs.400 in LYF’s favour, the pricing is not something you should consider while making your smart Smartphone choice. Both support 4G, dual SIM, so even that is a factor not worth considering.

The Coolpad Note 3 Lite is the obvious winner here, but reports suggest that Reliance is giving away a Reliance Jio SIM card with each of its LYF Smartphone. Nothing special about this apart from the apparent three months of unlimited data and some 4500 minutes of free voice calls! Now, that’s something to think about, right?
