Coolpad Mega 5AChinese handset maker Coolpad had expanded its smartphone portfolio in India with the launch of Coolpad Mega 5A. The phone will be exclusive to Indian market and has already gone on sale starting today i.e. 16 August 2018 across 8 states across the country- Delhi NCR, Haryana, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Coolpad Mega 5A Price in India:

The Coolpad Mega 5A is priced at Rs. 6,999 for the lone 2GB RAM + 16GB inbuilt storage variant. There is no choice in terms of color as it will come in single Gold color option.

Coolpad Mega 5A Features and Specifications:

The Coolpad Mega 5A is powered by quad-core Spreadtrum SC9850K SoC clocked at 1.3GHz along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The storage can be extened further up to 128GB, thanks to the presence of microSD card slot. The device sports a 5.47-inch HD+ IPS InCell display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 720×1440 pixel resolution.

In the camera department, you get a vertically stacked dual camera set up on the rear with a combination of an 8-megapixel primary sensor and a 0.3-megapixel VGA secondary sensor with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and LED flash. The front hosts a 5-megapixel selfie camera with selfie flash. All of this is fueled by a 2,500mAh battery. In terms of software, the device runs Google’s latest Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box.

On paper, the Coolpad Mega 5A seems to have decent specs for a budget smartphone. However, it will face stiff competition from the leader in this segment i.e. the Redmi 5A which comes with a price tag of Rs. 5,999 for the base 2GB RAM variant and Rs. 6,999 for the higher 3GB RAM model.
