Among all the smartphones that featured at MWC 2018, the Vivo Apex concept phone did make a mark. Its amazing screen to body ratio at 91% and its pop-up front facing camera for selfie lovers stood out as distinct features.

There’s good news for all smartphone enthusiasts who found the phone amazing. The Vivo Apex was initially marketed as a concept phone, but it will now be sold to the public.

There is no word on the prices and specifications of the phone yet. At an event held in China recently, the company announced that the Apex is set for mass-production from mid-2018. Going by Vivo’s record, the sales is expected to happen a few months later and the official launch could be slated for late 2018 or the beginning of 2019.

The Apex has accommodated amazing screen space with a bezel of just 1.8 mm to its left and right. The bezel at the chin is about 4.3 mm. The phone has a 5.99-inch OLED panel, and there is a large in-display fingerprint sensor in its lower half.

Apex is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 and the phone also features USB-C and 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom.

The phone has a super HDR camera with a dynamic coverage of up to 14 EV. It has innovatively built and leverages principles such as multi-frame compositing and preferences, smart optimization, character optimizations, natural tones, and advanced AI Algorithm.

The highlight of the Vivo Apex smartphone is the positioning of its 8-megapixel front-facing camera which pops out of the top of the phone in 0.8 seconds when required and retracts automatically after use. The Vivo Apex also has a HiFi audio chipset and it has a dual camera system at the rear.
