The Huawei P20 Lite is available for sale in India since March 2018 and is priced at Rs. 19,999. Whereas the Vivo V9 which was launched a few weeks ago comes with a price tag of Rs. 22,290. So, the P20 Lite is better in terms of pricing but let’s see the value for money.

Huawei P20 Lite vs Vivo V9: Display

The Huawei P20 Lite sports a 5.8-inch TFT LCD full-HD+ FullView display with 1080×2280 pixels resolution, 432 ppi pixel density, and 19:9 aspect ratio. While, the Vivo V9 sports a 6.3-inch full-HD+ IPS ‘FullView Display 2.0’ with 1080×2280 pixel resolution, 400 ppi pixel density and 19:9 aspect ratio.

The P20 Lite is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. The Vivo V9 is fueled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core 2.2 GHz chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage.

Both the devices run Android Oreo 8.0 operating system out of the box with custom Android forks. The P20 Lite runs EMUI 8.0 and the Vivo V9 runs FunTouch 4.0.

The battery capacity of P20 Lite is 3,000mAh whereas the battery capacity of Vivo V9 is 3,260mAh, with no fast charging support.

The Vivo V9 weighs 150 grams whereas the P20 Lite weighs 145 grams.

Huawei P20 Lite vs Vivo V9: Camera

The P20 Lite features a dual camera setup on the rear with a 16-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The front hosts a 24-megapixel selfie sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, which supports AR-based stickers and has 3D facial recognition.

The Vivo V9 bears a dual rear camera setup with the primary 16-megapixel sensor and secondary 5-megapixel sensor. On the front, there’s a 24-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture. The camera features AI-based Face Beautify app for selfie, video call beautification, AR Stickers, Portrait lighting effect and Bokeh depth-of-field effect.

Overall, both the phones provide a good value for money in terms of specifications. But, if we have to pick one then it would be the Vivo V9 as it scores better in terms of battery, display and camera specifications as compared to Huawei P20 Lite.
