The brand, once known solely for PC/Laptops, Compaq, is now stepping in the smart TV segment of the Indian market. The company has collaborated with Ossify Industries, an electronics manufacturer based in Noida. Compaq has launched 2 smart TVs, 55” and 65”, under the series Hex QLED TV.
The company focused precisely on audio and is launching both the models with the new Mimi Hearing Tech that plays with the intensity and the frequency of sound to provide an immersive experience. Compaq’s new offering will compete with brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vu, etc. The base 55” variant is priced at ₹59,999.
Compaq Hex QLED TV: Key specs and features
Compaq is offering two variants, 55” and 65”, under its Hex QLED range. Both the variants will sport a QLED display along with HDR10 support and a screen resolution of 3840*2160 pixels. The TVs will also feature the Wide Color Gamut Plus and Experience Stabilization Engine to reduce any jitter. A few features like Dolby Vision, etc. are missing which basically comes as a standard at this price bracket.
Both variants of Hex QLED are also loaded with DTS TruSound technology, Dolby Audio, and Pure Sound technology. These features will work in integration with Mimi Hearing tech that will tune the intensity and sound frequency to offer a crystal clear audio experience.
Compaq has equipped these TVs with a quad-core processor coupled with Mali GPU on a 2.5 GB RAM. The onboard storage will be 16 GB and both the variants will boot on Android OS out-of-the-box. Additional apps can be downloaded from the Play Store right from the TV.
On the connectivity front, users will get dual-band WiFi, 4 full-size HDMI, 1 USB 3.0, and 3 USB 2.0 ports.
Pricing & availability
The new Compaq Hex QLED smart TV series will start with the base price of ₹59,999 and the 65” variant will retail at ₹89,999. The series is available for purchase via Flipkart. The company also revealed that it will come with more affordable variants ranging from 32” to 55” very soon.
