Domestic manufacturer Celkon has launched its latest smartphone S1 in Indian market. The device comes with a price tag of Rs. 14,999. The sleek phone measures 6.5mm in thickness weighs 137 grams.
The Celkon S1 sports a 5.1-inch fullHD display with 1080x1920p resolution. The phone is powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processor (chipset details are not yet known but it is most likely to be MediaTek) along with 1GB RAM. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and comes with 16GB in-built storage. There’s a 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash along with a 8MP front camera. It also features Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor and Gyroscope Sensor.
The dualSIM (GSM + GSM) handset is packed with 2300mAh battery capacity. The connectivity features include- Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM Radio, micro-USB and 3G.

The closest competitor to Celkon S1 is Karbonn Titanium S7 that was launched last year. The Titanium S7 features a 5-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory expandable up to 32GB, 13MP rear camera with an LED flash and 2MP front camera. The connectivity features of S7 include- Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G connectivity, Micro USB and FM Radio. The device is currently priced around Rs. 15,000 in India.
The S1 will be available only in one colour- Black. Considering the features and price Celkon seems to be leaving no stone unturned to compete with the global giants.
