Japanese brands are known for peculiar designs. You may not always like what they make, but the products catch your eyes for sure. In a world where most action cameras look like a matchbox, Casio decided to go with a radically different design approach. Its latest action camera GZE-1 looks as if it an eye of a Terminator. Or if you prefer to sound boring, the design is inspired by its G-Shock sport watches.
The GZE-1’s mean look isn’t only cosmetic. It is a rugged product with IPX8 certification. It can withstand water immersion for up to 50 m. It can also survive chilling -10 degrees Celsius temperature.
The camera features a 6.9-MP imaging sensor. The wide angle lens supports 170.4 degrees view. It can stabilised Full HD videos. There’s an interesting slow-mo feature to dramatise a certain portion of a clip. You can also snap 6 MP pictures with the GZE-1.
The Casio GZE-1 will hit the stores in Japan on October 27. There’s no word on its pricing and global release.
