Canon India has launched its new mirrorless camera “EOS M50” in India. The camera targets the burgeoning millennial population in India. Canon EOS M50 will be available at Rs. 61,995 for its single kit option.

The camera boasts of a DIGIC 8 image processor to ensure better picture quality. Its handy for shooting high definition videos. It comes with 4k movie shooting capabilities. The Canon EOS M50 will also enable its users to shoot ultra-high definition movies even under low light conditions because of its improved “dual pixel CMOS AF” and its lightweight portable camera with 24.1 megapixel “APS-C sized CMOS” sensor. The users of the camera will be able to select and move its AF frame using a touch and drag AF panel while focusing on the image to be captured or video to be shot through the built-in 2.36 million dot electronic viewfinder.

The camera has a “4K Frame Grab” function that enables users to extract high resolution images from the videos captured. Users can ensure that the movie shootings are not disturbed as camera shake is reduced due to the combination of IS lenses in Canon EOS M50.

“Even when using non-IS lenses, the EOS M50’s built in five-axis stabilisation feature ensures that users are able to enjoy seamless and resolute video capture,” the company said.

The camera also facilitates rich slow-motion video shoots wherein the users can shoot in high-frame rate of HD 120p. Its normal ISO speed of 25,600 and expandable up to 51,200 enables users to take clear shots in low-light conditions while ensuring minimum noise in low-light conditions.

Another delightful feature in the camera is the “silent mode” which mutes the shutter sound. It enables users to use this mirrorless camera at events such as concerts, live stage shows etc. Its continuous shooting speed is approximately 10fps in one shot AF and 7.4fps in “Servo” AF.

The Canon EOS M50 has been ergonomically designed so that the users can operate it with a single hand. Its buttons and dials are on the right-hand side of the camera to enable users to adjust settings even while they are shooting a picture or a video or just trying to focus on the visual to be captured through the electronic view finder.

The camera supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and near-field communication (NFC) connectivity. Its users can share images and videos by pairing the camera with smart devices. The camera is built to support both iOS and Android.

“India is an evolving market and so are the demands and expectations of the customers. EOS M50 strengthens our commitment to the mirrorless segment. This product is a result of our ‘consumer-first’ approach,” said Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India. “Taking our objectives of customer delight and innovation ahead, we will continue to push new product development in both Digital SLR and Mirror Less areas,” he added.
