The Honor 9 Lite is now official and is a budget phone with exciting looks and good specs. Available in Black, Blue, and Grey, the phone will go on open sale from December 26 in the company’s home country. The prices start from CNY 1199 (approx. Rs 12,000) and go up to CNY 1799 (approx. Rs 18,000). In India, you can expect it to sit between the Honor 7X and Honor 9i, which already are doing good business here.
It comes with a premium looking build as Honor dumps the metal unibody in favour of a glass back for the Honor 9 lite. The rear has an uncanny resemblance to the iPhone 8. At the front it sports a 5.65-inch FHD+ full-screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass display. Owing to the minimum bezel design and a smaller display size it would enable single-handed usage. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 SoC coupled with Mali T830- MP2 GPU which also underpins the Honor 7X and Honor 9i. The phone comes with 3 GB / 4GB RAM and will come in 32GB storage / 64GB storage options. You can add another 256 GB via the microSD card slot.
On the photography front it sports dual 13 MP + 2 MP camera setup at both the front and rear. The rear horizontally stacked camera sensors are accompanied by an LED flash while the front shooters make do with soft screen flash light. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the rear of the device.
Other features include dual-SIM support with VoLTE calling support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS / GLONASS. It comes shod with a 3000 mAh battery pack inside and runs on Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box.
