Bose, one of the world’s best in audio manufacturing, has announced the launch of its newest Sleepbuds in India. The Sleepbuds come with the company’s proprietary noise-masking technology which cuts-off any unpleasant noise while the users are sleeping. This enables users to have sound sleep and be refreshed for the new day.

The Sleepbuds play very subtle audio tracks that can efficiently block the common noises around the users. With its ultra-light ear tip, the device fits into the ears so seamlessly that the users barely feel it when it is worn. The Sleepbuds can go on for 16 hours uninterrupted once it is fully charged. The Bose Sleepbuds were initially tested during the Indiegogo campaign in November 2017 and was subsequently release in June 2018.

Specifications of the Bose Sleepbuds

Each Sleepbud of the pair weighs around 1.4 grams and measure 1cm in height and width. On the body, a laser-etched antenna has been placed externally to allow seamless connectivity with smartphones and tablets via Bluetooth. Under the hood, the Sleepbuds feature a rechargeable silver-zinc battery, a miniscule transducer, and a micro-circuit board with flash memory.

The package also consists of StayHear+ sleep tips included in three sizes to create an additional barrier against external noise. The brushed aluminium charging case that comes with the Sleepbuds hold an additional charge of 16 hours when unplugged.

Price and Availability

Bose Sleepbuds with its noise-masking technology and high-gloss white finish comes with a price tag of Rs. 22,900 in India. It will be available for sale across official Bose stores, select resellers,,, and Flipkart starting September 20. The Sleepbuds are compatible with mobile operating systems Android and iOS. It comes with Bose Sleep app that offers a range of customization to further delight the users.

“Noise-masking is a science,” said Daniel Lee, Systems Engineer for Bose Sleepbuds. “It’s more than ambient sound or white noise. You can’t achieve it by simply turning up the volume on calming songs. And depending on the situation, it’s more effective than active noise cancelling – even ours. During the day, QuietComfort headphones improve focus and productivity, or let you hear your playlists and calls clearly in loud places. But at night, you’re trying to shut down completely, and the world is naturally more quiet – and when it’s quiet, even the slightest sound seems loud. Bedside machines can’t cover it, earplugs can’t block it, and earbuds meant for sitting, standing, or moving can’t be worn for hours laying down – especially on your side. But Bose Sleepbuds can. And if you’re someone who’s tried everything and nothing’s worked, or haven’t tried anything believing nothing will, we made them for you.”

The Bose Sleepbuds are not the company’s first attempt at offering a unique wellness-focused audio device. The company has launched the Bose Hearphones in December 2016 to aid in hearing and help in enhancing the audio quality of conversations happening around the users. Using the headphones, the users could focus, amplify or reduce the sounds from the external environment to a comfortable level and enhance the overall audio and conversational experience.
