TCL Communications is all set to unveil the BlackBerry KEY2 on June 7. The event will be held in New York. The smartphone, which is a successor to the BlackBerry KEYOne will be available for sale in North America on the same day. However, users from China would have to wait only till the next day. The phone will be available for sale in China from 8th of June.

BlackBerry has confirmed this by sending out official invites for the unveiling of BlackBerry KEY2. This will be done at a launch event in Beijing on June 8. The event will begin at 9:30 AM (Beijing time) and it will be held at the Damai Center (Hall 1).

BlackBerry has signed a deal with Jingdong to sell the smartphone. There is no official confirmation yet on whether this is exclusive to the e-commerce portal or if there are other platforms too where KEY2 will be available. Jingdong has already created an exclusive page for the smartphone where interested users can go and register themselves.

The BlackBerry KEY2 is expected to come in two variants. The first is a Snapdragon 450 version that will be powered with 4GB of RAM. The second one is a Snapdragon 660 version that will be powered by 6GB of RAM. If you compare this with KEYone, it came with a Snapdragon 625 chipset, along with 3GB/4GB of RAM. The KEY2 could feature a physical QWERTY keyboard.

If rumours are to be believed, the BlackBerry KEY2 could sport a 4.5-inch LCD panel. It will come with a screen resolution of 1080×1620 pixel and a 3:2 aspect ratio. It will be the first smartphone from BlackBerry to feature a 12MP+8MP dual rear camera setup. The selfie camera of the smartphone will have an 8MP sensor.
