Blackberry KEY2 LE IndiaOptiemus Infracom, which manufactures and distributes BlackBerry-branded handsets has launched a toned down version of its KEY2 in India dubbed as BlackBerry KEY2 LE. It is touted as the ‘more accessible’ version of original BlackBerry KEY2. The phone was announced first at IFA 2018 at the start of the year and comes with qwerty keypad. The KEY 2 LE comes with revamped physical keyboard, slimmer design and new color options. In addition, it features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 SoC instead of Snapdragon 660 as featured in KEY 2.

BlackBerry KEY2 LE Price and Availability in India:

The Blackberry KEY2 LE is priced in India at Rs. 29,990 and will be sold exclusively via Amazon.in starting October 12 i.e. during Amazon’s Great Indian Sale. It will come in single colour option i.e. Space Blue. To recall, the KEY2 was priced in India at Rs. 42,990 at the time was launch as Amazon exclusive.

BlackBerry KEY2 LE Software and Hardware Configuration:

The Blackberry KEY2 LE sports a 4.5-inch full HD IPS touch display with 1620×1080 pixel resolution, 3:2 aspect ratio and 443ppi. The phone, which is designed for physical keyboard enthusiasts, comes with full QWERTY (26 keys) keyboard below the display and one can assign shortcuts to each key i.e. short-press or long-press any key to perform various tasks. e.g. You can tap on key ‘G’ to launch the Google applications. The fingerprint scanner is embedded in the space bar. In addition, there are capacitive menu buttons on the screen for navigation.

As mentioned earlier, the phone is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz along with Adreno 509 GPU and 4GB RAM. The onboard storage capacity of the device is 64GB which can be further extended up to 256GB via microSD card. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box with BlackBerry software enhancements on top including BlackBerry’s security and productivity features. All of this is fueled by 3,000mAh battery with 18W Quick Charge 3.0 support instead of 3,500mAh battery that powers the KEY2. The battery can deliver up to 22.5 hours standby time as claimed by the company.

In the camera department, you get a horizontally stacked dual rear camera setup comprising of 13-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF + a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera set up also features dual tone LED flash. The front hosts an 8-megapixel fixed focus camera with LCD selfie flash and full-HD recording capabilities.
