2016 PROMISES TO BE “SMARTER”WITH THESE NEW PHONES

The year 2015 has been very good; we have bitten into new Apples, seen new Galaxies, and had new Xperiences. Yes, that’s some cool Smartphone lingo that you might’ve gotten used to this past year. Big brands like Apple, Samsung, Sony, and HTC along with relatively newer brands like Xiaomi, Micromax, and OnePlus have given us, tech-savvy Smartphone lovers have a reason to smile with their big product launches. However, 2016 promises to be even more exciting with the launch of these following Smartphones:

1. Apple iPhone 7

Forget world- renowned Kashmiri apples, when Apples from Cupertino come, that’s when true happiness begins. Rumoured to launch in September, the iPhone 7 will supposedly sport an all new and powerful A10 chip and embedded M10 motion co-processor along with 2GB RAM. It most likely will come with the iOS 10 preinstalled and sport an edge-to-edge screen. Certain patents also suggest that the new iPhone 7 will be waterproof, with one particular patent indicating speakers that will “throw out” water that has found its way in. Let’s see if the upcoming model will surpass the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6S, and iPhone 6S Plus in popularity.

2. Huawei Nexus 6

As per tradition, the Nexus 6 will be the launching pad of Android N, as every new Nexus for the last few years has been incorporated with the latest Android OS. It will make use of the immensely powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and X12 LTE modem for better performance and power efficiency. It will sport a 6” screen with at least quad HD display if not an outright 4k resolution. For faster charging and data transfer, it will use a USB-C connector. The Nexus 6 may launch somewhere in the last quarter of 2016. For now, the Nexus 6P is grabbing the eyeballs for Google.

3. Microsoft Surface Phone

If Microsoft doesn’t innovate, who will? In an effort to bring its high-powered Windows 10 to the realm of Smartphones, and increase its share in the same market, Windows will soon release the Surface Phone with features similar to that of the Surface Pro range of tablets. The Smartphone reportedly will sport a 5.5” Quad-HD screen, a 64-bit Intel processor and 4GB of RAM. It will have a 21MP primary camera along with an 8MP secondary camera. The Surface Pen might make an appearance with this phone.

4. Samsung Galaxy S7

If rumours are to be believed, the S7 will come in four variations: S7, S7 Edge, S7 Plus, and S7 Edge Plus. Plans for the new phone include the incorporation of an iris scanner. Reports also suggest a first quarter launch of the phone, a move that will certainly make users of the Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge choose whether to upgrade soon or wait for the other phones from the big brands. The Smartphone will incorporate a Snapdragon 820 chipset to add more power to the already powerful phone. The screen will most likely sport an edge-to-edge look, with a side notification panel, something akin to Samsung’s “Edge” look.

5. LG G5

Although not much is known about this successor to the LG G4, this one will come with a better battery capacity of 4000mAh, and the inclusion of an iris scanner. Unlike most other premium Smartphones of this age, the LG G5 will have a removable battery. The phone is likely to sport a 5.3- to 5.6” screen with either Quad HD or 4k resolution support! Supposedly, the G5 will sport a dual back cameras- a 16MP camera along with an 8 MP one. A secondary 8MP camera will grace the front of the camera. It may use the latest Snapdragon 820 chipset for power-oriented performance.

You may want to start saving up and spend some quality time with your current Smartphone, as you wouldn’t give your current phones a second look when you get your hands on the killer Smartphones of 2016.
