Asus has recently announced the launch of its gaming smartphone – the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 in Indonesia on 11th December. This smartphone will succeed the highly successful and praised Zenfone Max Pro M1.

Asus has confirmed that the smartphone will be powered by a 5,000mAh battery. This will ensure a long-lasting battery which is critical to ensure a seamless and delightful gaming experience for the users. The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is expected to feature Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology.

Asus has teased an image of the smartphone earlier with a teaser that read “The Real Pro is coming”. Subsequently, it has confirmed the battery capacity of the smartphone. The teaser had revealed that the smartphone will have a notch design at the top of the display and it will feature a selfie camera.

The image also indicated that the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 will come with a dual rear camera setup, stacked vertically in the top-left corner along with the LED flash that is placed just below the camera sensors. Asus also claims that one of the sensors will support 3-axis EIS to enable the users to enjoy a better experience with photos and videos.

If reports are to be believed, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 will feature a 6.26-inch IPS Full HD+ display. The aspect ratio of the display would be 19:5.

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor which is a significant improvement over the Snapdragon 636 that powers the Zenfone Max Pro M1. The smartphone will pack in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Asus is also expected to launch a 6GB RAM variant.

While there are rumours which indicate that the smartphone will be powered by Android 9 Pie operating system, there are also contrary reports which convey that it could run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box and subsequently get upgraded to Android Pie.

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 is scheduled to get launched at an event in Indonesia on 11th December. The company is yet to convey any details or plans of its launch in India. This is a surprising move by Asus which had launched the Zenfone Max Pro M1 in India first and it was very well received in the country.
