Asus Zenfone 5z Set to Launch in India on July 4, will be Flipkart Exclusive

Taiwan based smartphone maker Asus had launched the Zenfone 5z flagship smartphone at MWC 2018 earlier this year. The company now seems all set to launch the phone in India on July 4 at 12:30 p.m. Earlier this week, Flipkart had teased the launch of the device without mentioning the date. Now, a dedicated page on the flipkart site mentions the launch date and time but the price is not yet revealed. It’s quite obvious that the phone will be Flipkart exclusive. The page also boasts about the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor present in the device along with AIE (Artificial Intelligence Engine).

Asus Zenfone 5Z Features and Specifications:

The Asus Zenfone 5z sports 6.2-inch full HD+ Super IPS display with a resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9, a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display has an iPhone X like notch at the top. It also comes with Glove Touch support and has Corning Gorilla glass for added protection against scratches.

The phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box topped with company’s own ZenUI 5.0. It is powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with Adreno 630 GPU and 4GB/6GB/8GB of RAM. The internal storage capacity options are 64GB/128GB/256GB. Not sure if company will launch all variants in India.

Talking about the camera, the Zenfone 5z hosts a dual rear camera set up consisting of 12MP Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 1.4μm pixel size, Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS + 8MP OV8856 secondary sensor with a 120-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. The front features an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera also supports Face Unlock feature.

All of this is backed by a 3,300mAh battery which comes with ASUS BoostMaster fast charging as well as AI charging support.

In terms of connectivity there’s 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm audio jack, GPS, USB Type-C port and Dual speakers with NXP 9874 Smart AMP.

As mentioned earlier the pricing details of the Zenfone 5z are yet not revealed but the phone is expected to be priced aggressively in India in order to combat the competition.
