Asus Zenfone 5Z Pricing Leaked Accidentally Ahead of the Official Launch Today

Asus is all set to launch its Zenfone 5Z smartphone today i.e. July 4 as Flipkart exclusive. The phone is already launched outside of India, so its specifications are already known. What we didn’t know so far is its price in India. However, the same seems to have been accidentally leaked via eCommerce giant Flipkart (listing taken down now).

Various variant of the yet-to-be launched phone were found listed on Flipkart along with the price. The Zenfone 5Z 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant was found listed with a price tag of Rs. 29,999, while the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant was listed at Rs. 32,999. The top model with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage was listed at Rs. 36,999. The listing also featured no cost EMI along with other bank offers.

For those who are interested, here’s a quick recap of Asus Zenfone 5Z specifications. The phone sports a 6.2-inch IPS LCD Full HD+ notched display with an aspect ratio of 19:9 and resolution of 1080 x 2246 pixels. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC, coupled with Adreno 630 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM. As mentioned earlier it will come in three storage variants- 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. In terms of optics, there’s a vertically stacked dual camera set up on the rear comprising of 12-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. The front hosts an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. The front camera also doubles up as Face Unlock to unlock the screen by recognising facial features. In addition, there’s a rear mounted fingerprint sensor for security purpose.

It runs Android 8.0 Oreo-based ZenUI 5.0 and is fueled by a 3,300mAh battery that supports artificial intelligence (AI) backed BoostMaster fast charging.

Considering the specifications and pricing, the Asus Zenfone 5Z will compete against the likes of OnePlus 6 and Huawei P20 Pro.
