If I were to tell you that finally there is a new Windows powered laptop on the horizon that has the capacity to give a tough run to Apple MacBook, I am sure you would be telling how silly a statement that is. With no intentions of praising, bashing or taking sides of any of the companies, I am all excited to say that the all new windows powered Asus ZenBook UX305 could be the potential Apple MacBook Air killer.
Asus, the Taiwanese tech giant has not received its due in the netbook space but it has always been in the forefront when it comes to offering innovative products. Despite maintaining its low profile in the laptop market, Asus is best known for its PC components. The company is determined to turn the tables with this new laptop, which not only has an appealing design but also impressive specs and enticing price.

Look and Feel
The ZenBook UX305F primarily comes in two colours, white and the Asus signature, Obsidian Stone, which is a combination of purple and brown colour. The metallic body has a dull matte finish and it is remarkably thin at 12.3mm. With such thin body it is no surprise that it weigh just about 1.2 Kg, which makes it easy to carry and handle even with one hand.
One of the best things that you would surely love handling the laptop is the fact that you can easily raise the lid with just one finger without holding the base. The rubber legs fitted at the bottom keeps the laptop firmly fixed on all surfaces, which makes it easy to work with.

One of the biggest concerns of a netbook is the uncomfortable keyboard, but with Asus ZenBook UX305F, you will not face any such issues. The keyboard is nicely sized and spaced that leave sufficient space for your hands and maneuver through the keys. The only missing thing is the backlight, which would have the keyboard perfect.

In recent times, Asus has hit all the right notes as far as the hardware specs are concerned and the ZenBook UX305F is no exception. The device is powered by Core M-5Y10 processor, which is part of Intel’s new ultra low power processors that is designed especially for ultra thin laptops. It also boasts of a 2 CPU cores with hyper threading that clocks speed up to 2.0 GHz. The 4 GB RAM assures a seamless multi-tasking experience.

The 13.3 Inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 combined with Intel HD 5300 GPU provides and incredible video watching and gaming experience. Not to mention, the crisp, sharp and vibrant display not only make the finer details conspicuous but also is easy on the eye. On the software front, the ZenBook runs on the Windows 8.1. You also get a range of pre-installed software such as Microsoft Office trial version, Twitter, Skype, Zinio, Fresh Paint and TripAdvisor to name a few.
Working with this ZenBook is absolute pleasure, the quick boot time and the quick responsive time while switching between different programs deserves thumbs up. Also, the device is completely silent, thanks to lack of any moving parts or fans. This gives you the feeling of working with a premium machine. The battery life is also pretty good, once fully charged the laptop it runs efficiently for 4 hrs, 22 minutes.
There are too many things to like about Asus ZenBook UX305F. It looks great and is extremely easy to carry. The clever design sans extraneous fluff enhances the user experience. The sharp display, spacious keyboard, smooth trackpad, software all are packed in to cater to the needs to the users. With all these amazing features, what seals the deal is its price. Price at Rs. 49,999/-, I have no hesitation in recommending this laptop. If there are any doubts about the laptop being a MacBook Air killer, the price alone should put the debate to rest.
