The phone was first launched by the company’s gaming brand Republic of Gamers (ROG) at Computex 2018 in June this year. The highlight of the device is its 3D vapour-chamber cooling system that helps to boost performance during extended gaming sessions. It is also the world’s first smartphone to feature 3D vapour-chamber cooling system, as claimed by the company. The phone is specially designed for users who want to play graphic-intensive games like PUBG without any lag or overheating of the device that spoils the gaming experience.

The Asus ROG Phone price in India is set at Rs. 69,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. it will be sold exclusively via eCommerce giant starting today. The accessories for the ROG Phone will also be available soon in the market.

The Asus ROG phone is expected to compete against the other gaming phones like Xiaomi Black Shark, Xiaomi Black Shark Helo and Razer Phone 2, which are yet to be launched in India.

Asus ROG Phone Features and Specifications

Being a gaming device, the Asus ROG Phone packs a powerful hardware. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor clocked at up to 2.96GHz paired with gaming-optimised Adreno 630 for graphics. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage which is non-expandable. In addition, the phone features world’s first 3D vapor-chamber cooling system and an AeroActive Cooling Case that comes bundled with the ROG Phone.

The phone sports a 6-inch AMOLED Full HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a 1ms response time, and also supports HDR. It also features an optional TwinView Dock for dual-screen handheld mode. In addition, there’s a set of ‘Air Trigger’ ultrasonic sensors that allows the users to use shoulders of the device as extra buttons.

Connectivity options provided with Asus ROG Phone are Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ad, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, AGPS, Glonass, NFC, and 3.5mm jack. There’s even a second USB Type-C port and headphone jack on the side the AeroActive, allowing you to easily charge it while using it in landscape mode. Dimensions of the phone are 158.8 x 76.2 x 8.6 mm and its weight is about 200 grams. The handset has IPX4 rating for resistance against sudden water splashes. In terms of software, the phone runs ROG UI based on Android 8.1 operating system out of the box. All of this is fueled by an impressive 4,000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 on the bottom port and Quick Charge 4.0 (30W) on the side-mounted port. The phone can charge up to 60 percent in 30 minutes as claimed by the company.

In terms of optics, the Asus ROG phone bears a dual camera set up on the rear consisting of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture + an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The front features an 9-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calls
