In a recent event in Taiwan, Asus has introduced two smartphones under its ZenFone series, named ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro. The last year’s ZenFone 6 was launched in just a single variant and the specifications reveal that ZenFone 7 series has some significant upgrades over its predecessor. Putting the processors aside, both the ZenFone 7 variants come with almost the same specs. The smartphones also offer the enhanced flip camera module that was introduced last year by Asus.

Asus ZenFone 7 & 7 Pro: Key specs and features

Putting a full stop to all the leaks and rumors, Asus has introduced both the variants, ZenFone 7 & ZenFone 7 Pro, with a big 6.67” screen having FHD+ resolution on an AMOLED panel. The smartphones also offer a 90Hz refresh rate. The flip camera module on the top rests on the rear, however, it can go full 180-degrees to also become a selfie snapper. On the biometrics front, the FP scanner is integrated into the power button on the right side.

Coming to the optics, both the variants offer a triple-camera array where the primary sensor will be a 64MP Sony IMX686. The module also houses 12MP ultra-wide and an 8MP telephoto sensor with up to 3x optical zoom. The primary camera can record up to the highest resolution of 8K 30fps. The only difference in the camera module between both the smartphones is that the 7 Pro comes with EIS and OIS, where the lower variant relies only on EIS.

The smartphones, ZenFone 7 and 7 Pro are powered by Qualcomm’s mighty Snapdragon 865 and 865+, respectively. The variants launched in Taiwan comes with the storage size up to 8 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. Both devices also support 5G connectivity. The package is backed up by a larger 5,000 mAh battery with fast charging support up to 30W. The ZenFone 7 series will run ZenUI 7 based on Android 10 out-of-the-box.
