Earlier, Asus launched the Google Nexus 7 in India, and this time its FonePad powered by the latest Android Jelly Bean and an Intel processor. The Asus tablet comes with a price tag of Rs. 15999 which is quite impressive for a phone with calling capabilities. Well, that’s not all. The tablet promises to offer you a lot more than what you expect. Lest have a look.

Asus FonepadKey Features:

  • 7 inch capacitive touchscreen
  • 1.2 GHz Intel processor
  • 1 GB RAM
  • Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS
  • 3.15 MP primary camera
  • 1.2 MP secondary camera

Design:
Though not a premium design, it is indeed quite appealing. Thanks to its brushed aluminium finish. The 7 inch screen covers almost the entire front and has no hardware controls. The 1.3 MP camera along with the chrome earpiece grill is placed just above the screen.

The power button is located on the left which seems a bit odd as most of the tablets have the power button placed on the right. At the back, you have the 3.2 MP camera located at the top right in the centre and the ‘Intel’ logo at the lower end.

Screen:
The 7 inch display offers a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and promises better viewing angles. Though videos look quite impressive, the text appears much clearer and therefore can be best used as an ebook reader. However, you might possibly find the screen a bit reflective while under direct sun.

Hardware:
Powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom processor and a 1 GB RAM, the tablet promises to offer you the most desirable performance. 8 GB of internal storage sounds fair enough. The internal storage is further expandable upto 32 GB. The tablet pumps in a powerful 4270mAH battery that can easily last for the entire day on a moderate usage. Moreover, the power saver mode lets you further optimize and extend the battery life.

The Final Word:
Browse the internet, read books, watch your favorite videos, click a few shots, make voice calls, all of this and a lot more at Rs. 15999. The FonePad is currently viewed as a tough competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, and that makes it one of the best tablets ever produced.
