by April 19, 2022

Since the inception of the Covid-19, Apple has been organizing its yearly developer conference in the online mode and WWDC 2022 will also be primarily an online event. The event is scheduled from June 6 to June 10 and it will be the company’s 33rd WWDC. The first day of the event will be an offline one where Apple is inviting a small number of developers along with a few students to gather at Apple Park. The invitations will be sent to attend the WWDC keynote along with the SoU videos. The latter part of the day will be dedicated to the announcements of iOS 16 along with macOS 12, tvOS 16, iPadOS 16, and watchOS 9. The theme set by Apple this year is Call to Code and the event will officially livestream on various platforms such as Apple’s YT channel, apple.com, the app and website of Apple Developer, and the Apple TV.

WWDC 2022: Few Expectations

The trillion-dollar company has already teased the WWDC event where it has revealed that it will showcase the latest and greatest developments in its OS. The statement reveals that Apple is talking about a few significant changes in its operating system along with a list of added features. All the details will only be confirmed through the June 6 keynote, presentations, and other sources like digital lounges, learning labs, etc.

Moving on, the June 6 offline meet will also offer the attendees the opportunity to have direct access to Apple’s engineers and tech so that they can understand the software/hardware optimization in a much better way. The space for this offline meet will be strictly limited and the registration window will open soon on the Apple Developer.

Talking about the Call to Code theme, this year’s WWDC will operate a Swift Student Challenge where they will have to participate with their choice of Swift Playground app. The entries will be accepted up to April 25. For more details, you can visit the Apple Developer site or app. Also, Apple is focusing on providing more enhanced localized content so that the software experience gets better for the global users.

In the statement given by the brand’s WWDR Enterprise & Education Marketing’s Veep Susan Prescott, it is said that the WWDC event is focused on creating community-wide connections. This is why they try to invite developers from different parts of the earth and bring all sorts of creative ideas with them, she added. It will help them achieve their goals and create a new definition of what’s possible. She also said that Apple loves to connect with all the developers on its platform and hopes that the exercise is able to create the same energy levels for them, as well.

After all this, we can say that Apple has no intention of announcing any hardware at this event. However, the phrases like “tools to bring vision to reality” might indicate the introduction of their highly anticipated Apple Glass. As per the report published in Bloomberg by Mark Gurman, the Glass might get further delayed due to various factors such as camera, overheating, and software.

There are a few speculations from highly reputed sources that Apple might use WWDC 2022 to launch their new Apple Silicon Mac hardware, e.g. Macbook Pro. However, there are no details available officially for the same.
