Apple or Samsung? Who’s Winning?

by February 14, 2013 0 comments

For quite a while now, Apple seemed to be the sole leader in the smart phone world, with its competitors lying somewhere at the bottom of the list. However, with Samsung gushing in with a multitude of high-end smartphones, Apple definitely has a good reason to panic. Its primarily the Samsung Galaxy series that’s making the headlines. While Apple is busy playing around with its latest operating system – the iOS 6.1, Samsung promises its fans the best smart phone experience with the Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean). Here is a quick comparison between the Apple iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy SIII.

iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy SIIIAccording to a recent survey, 8 out of the top 10 Android devices belonged to Samsung. To be more precise, the Galaxy SII accounted to 8.2 percent share of the global android market with the Galaxy SIII moving a step forward with 9.2 percent. Overall, 47 percent of the global android market belongs to Samsung. Now, this is obviously giving Apple a hard time.

Another major factor that proves the fast growing dominance of Samsung is the profit that the company earned from the smartphone market alone in 2013 – an impressive 34 percent. No doubt, Apple seemed to be way ahead with 69 percent of profit, but Samsung tags the success as just the ‘beginning’.Micromax Canvas A110

Amazingly, the Indian gadget manufacturer Micromax recently created a huge buzz with its most fabulous creation the Canvas A110. The Micromax Canvas A110 was tagged as a serious threat to the Samsung phablet market, especially the Galaxy SIII.

Keeping aside all the speculations, one thing seems to be clear. When it comes to high-end smart phones, Apple and Samsung know exactly what you, as a customer, are looking for. But, who’s the winner? Well, don’t bet your money on Apple at least for now. Samsung might probably come up with a huge surprise. Who knows?
