Every year, in the first half, Apple usually updates at the best one of its MacBook models, and this new refreshment comes in at the right moment. Getting a complete makeover is the 12” MacBook, almost after a year it was launched.
So, what’s up in store for you this year? Let’s have a look.
New powerful processors
Finally the MacBook range gets the latest Intel Core M processor. The MacBook will now be powered by one of the below mentioned processors:
1.2 GHz dual-core Intel Core m5
1.3 GHz dual-core Intel Core m7
GHz dual-core Intel Core m3
Apple also takes a major leap by incorporating the Intel HD Graphics 515 that is known to be 25% faster than its previous versions. Moreover, the battery life now moves up to 10 to 11 hours from 9 to 10 hours. All MacBook models will now pack in an 8 GB RAM, irrespective of the processor built in.
Design and colour options
There are not many changes on the design front. With its impressively sleek look, MacBook design has always been a head turner. The upgraded models get the same design but with a brand new colour added. You can now opt for a rose gold MacBook. Other standard colour options include – Space Grey, Silver, and Gold.
What has Macbook retained
The thickness of the Macbook remains the same – 13.1mm at the most elevated point on the laptop. And of course, it weighs way below 1kg.
It still comes with just one USB Type-C port that can be used for filling up its juice and to connect storage or other USB devices. This turns out to be a hassle for those who prefer working with an external hard drive always attached to the MacBook. In such cases, you have no option but to detach the hard drive from the laptop and connect the charger.
In terms of price, Apple does not intend to make any changes. The upgraded MacBook models will cost the same, no matter where on earth you are. However, in case you intend to opt for a premium 512 GB model with the Intel Core m5 processor, you need to shed somewhere around Rs. 1.3 lakhs. You can expect the 256 GB model powered by the Intel core m3 processor to cost you just over Rs. 1 lakh. Nothing is yet known about the price of the Intel Core m7 variant. Note that all these models are available online as well as offline.
So, in terms of features, you get to witness not much of a difference. But, a faster processor, a powerful RAM and an upgraded battery is sure to make things a lot better for you. And, obviously, Rose-Gold lovers definitely have something to cheer about. No matter how small the upgrades are, Apple never seems to disappoint its fans, won’t you agree?
