Apple Launched The 5G-Enabled iPhone 12 Pro & Pro Max In The Indian Market

by October 14, 2020

The invites for the online-only Hi, Speed event were sent to the media houses and other concerned people last month. The event was scheduled for October 13 in Apple Park, CA and Apple has introduced a number of interesting devices. The spotlight is obviously on the new iPhones. The brand has launched an all-new Mini variant for this year’s iPhones. The lineup includes iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and lastly the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Same as the last year, the Pro variants come with cutting-edge tech and are next in line with 2019’s iPhone 11 Pro models. The 2020 Pro models will sport A14 Bionic, Super Retina XDR panel, 5G support, wireless charging up to 15W through MagSafe, and LiDAR equipped triple-camera.

iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max: Key specs & features

Both the Pro variants from Apple will come in a glass and metal unibody design which draws some similarity from the iPhone 4 lineup. iPhone 12 Pro & Pro Max comes with a stumpy design and IP68 ratings. Both smartphones can stay in the water for 30 minutes and up to 2 meters. The iPhone 12 Pro will sport a Super Retina XDR panel of 6.1-inch whereas the elder brother iPhone 12 Pro Max will feature a 6.7-inch screen. The display panels are constructed on OLED tech and are given the protection of Corning’s all-new Ceramic Shield glass.

The 2020 Pro variants will come with Apple’s A14 Bionic chip and will run on iOS 14. The SoC is claimed by the brand to provide 50% faster computing than the competition. The optics are also quite similar on both models where users will get a triple camera array, the layout is similar to last year’s. iPhone 12 Pro will feature a 12MP wide lens, another 12MP ultra-wide, and also the 12MP telephoto sensor. The selfie snapper on the Pro will come with the TruDepth feature.

Coming to the iPhone 12 Pro Max’s optics, the housing and the megapixel counts are identical to its younger brother. However, the sensor size of the primary 12MP wide lens is increased by 47% at 1.7μm. It will enhance low-light photography by a whopping 87%, the brand claims. The telephoto sensor is also a bit enhanced at 65mm focal length paired with optical zoom up to 5x.

The video recording has also been taken to a whole new level. Apple is offering Dolby Vision HDR, a world’s first along with the ProRAW feature which will be quite useful for the content creators out there. The Pro RAW will give users crisp and detailed shots, all thanks to Apple’s advanced computational photography and RAW image capturing. Other camera-centric features will include Smart HDR 3, DeepFusion, and time-lapse in night mode.

Coming to LiDAR, Apple introduced this tech on iPads this year and now brought it to the Pro models of iPhone 12. Apart from providing amazing AR results, the scanner will allow much faster AF, especially in low-light. It will also allow the camera to understand depth in a better way. The scanner will be able to measure the distance up to 5 meters.

The iPhone 12 lineup will also be equipped with MagSafe that will help with faster wireless charging. The magnets will help you in lining up the device precisely on the charger.
