At the event hosted on September 14, Apple has announced its all-new smartphone lineup that was long awaited by the users and enthusiasts. The iPhone 13 series will include a total of four devices with a wide range of improvements in terms of design and hardware. All the devices will come in different storage and memory variants. The dual-camera setup on the standard iPhone 13 and its Mini variant is a bit different from its predecessor where the sensors were stacked vertically. Here, the module will remain similar but the sensors are placed diagonally. The lineup will be powered by A15 Bionic and will also boot with iOS 15 out of the box.
The base variants of all the four models will now sport 128 gigs of onboard storage. We are going to discuss the key specs, features, pricing, and more related to the iPhone 13 lineup that consists of iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Let’s dive in without any further delay.
iPhone 13 Mini: Key specs & features
This variant is next in line with last year’s iPhone 12 Mini and it will also be the most compact of all the models this year as well. With a screen size of 5.4” and comparatively smaller notch, iPhone 13 Mini will have all the bells and whistles of a bigger iPhone. It will come with a Retina XDR panel that is best in class for any sort of content consumption. The base storage will be 128GB and the device will come equipped with a more powerful A15 Bionic chip.
For the optical setup, Apple has gone for the 12-megapixel dual-camera setup on the rear and the sensor housed in the notch will also be a 12MP one. The brand has also opted to include a high-end feature that was earlier available only on the Pro models until last year, it’s the sensor shift technology that is focused on improving the overall picture quality. Apple is still using the lightning cable and the battery capacity is slightly increased. Apple claims to offer 1.5 hours extra compared to its last year’s counterpart.
The color options for this model are Product Red, Blue, Pink, Midnight, and Starlight. The price of the base variant will be ₹69,900.
iPhone 13: Key specs & features
With a tad bigger display of 6.1”, iPhone 13 will come with Super Retina XDR panel, however, it is stuck at just 60Hz. The smaller notch will offer an enhanced design language and like the Mini, it will also come with a base storage of 128GB and will sport A15 Bionic at its core. The camera setup is identical with the iPhone 13 Mini as well with a diagonal setup and sensor-shift technology, thanks to the ultra-wide sensor.
Along with the IR facial recognition, the battery size is bumped up as well and the brand claims to offer 2.5 hours extra screen-on time compared to the iPhone 12. These new iPhones will come equipped with Smart Data Mode where it focuses on extending battery life by switching to LTE from 5G where it isn’t needed. The device is also water resistant with IP68 ratings. The color options will also remain the same and the prices will start at ₹79,900 for the iPhone 13’s base variant.
iPhone 13 Pro: Key specs & features
In the Pro variants, Apple has truly incorporated the features that are meant for the professionals. The panel is 6.1” in size equipped with Apple’s ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate. This Super Retina XDR panel will be able to switch anywhere between 10Hz to 120Hz automatically based on the content that’s on it. Not only will it significantly impact the battery life, but it will also enhance the overall user experience with smoother transitions and better scrolling. These features are highly optimized with Apple’s all-new A15 Bionic chip that further helps with fast and smooth user experience.
The triple-camera setup has the similar layout with the iPhone 12 Pro and the features that users will get are Smart HDR 4, ProRAW, Deep Fusion, Portrait mode, night mode on all the sensors, and more. For the videos, Apple is offering a new cinematic feature that will let users record their subject with a bokeh and it will be later tweaked in the post. The iPhone videos will also come with ProRes codec support, however, it will not be available out of the box. Apple promises to deliver it through an OTA later this year.
The iPhone 13 Pro will be available in four color options; Gold, Graphite, Silver, and an all-new Sierra Blue. The base variant will be priced at ₹1,19,900.
iPhone 13 Pro Max: Key specs & features
The best and most premium of all, iPhone 13 Pro Max will boast of a larger 6.7” panel with the same LTPO panel that is present on the Pro model. The ProMotion 120Hz panel will automatically switch the refresh rate based on the content. It shares the optical setup with its younger sibling and the features will also remain exactly the same. The Apple ProRAW and ProRes Codec will help the professionals shoot the content that is not just the best in quality, but also offers a wide range of details that will help in post processing.
With the same four color options, iPhone 13 Pro Max will come with a base price of ₹1,29,900 for the 128GB variant.
