Apple iPhone XR Pre-order Begins in India: Starting Price is Rs. 76,900

Earlier last month, Apple unveiled its latest flagship for 2018 dubbed as iPhone XR along with iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The iPhone XS and XS Max are already available for sale in India, while the iPhone XR now has gone on pre-order for the first time in the country along with 50 other countries across the globe such as US, UK, UAE etc.

Apple iPhone XR Price in India:

The iPhone XR is the cheapest of the three iPhone variants launched, the other being iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. The iPhone XR comes in three storage variants which are priced as below,

• 4GB RAM + 64GB storage: Rs. 76,900
• 4GB RAM + 128GB storage: Rs. 81,900
• 4GB RAM + 256GB storage: Rs. 91,900

You can pre-order the same online (via eCommerce giants like Flipkart.com, Amazon.in, PayTM etc.) as well as offline via Apple authorized brick and mortar stores. The colour options available for the buyers are Black, White, Blue, Coral, Yellow, and (PRODUCT) RED. The phone will hit the retail shelves in the country on October 26.

Apple iPhone XR Software and Hardware Configurations:

The iPhone XR sports the same glass-sandwich design as that of iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. It comes with IP67 certification for resistance against dust and water. It features 6.1-inch edge-to-edge LCD Liquid Retina display with 1792 x 828 pixel resolution and pixel density of 326 PPI. Under the hood, the device is powered by Apple’s own 7nm A12 Bionic chipset that Apple claims can deliver powerful performance. In terms of storage, the phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB or 256GB of inbuilt storage. There is no option to expand the storage further though. The phone runs Apple’s latest iOS 12 operating system out of the box. The battery capacity of the device is not officially revealed by Apple but it is expected to be around 2,700mAh.

For the camera buffs, the phone features a single 12-megapixel wide-angle camera at the back with f/1.8 aperture, OIS and Smart HDR. The rear camera also has TrueTone LED flash support. The front hosts a 7MP TrueDepth snapper for selfies and video calls.

In terms of security, the phone features 3D technology based Face ID. But it lacks fingerprint sensor. Apple has also skipped 3.5mm headphone jack, so you’ll need to carry an extra accessory for the same. Interestingly, the new iPhone has dual SIM (Nano+eSIM) support which was missing in all the iPhone launched till date.
