Good news for the existing as well as potential HTC One users in India as they can now update their phones to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The OS upgrade will bring with it the HTC Sense 5.5 and some other improvements to existing features. The Taiwanese handset maker took to its social accounts- Twitter & Facebook to announce this update.
The update that was long overdue for the Indian variant of the smart phone comes with improvements in HTC BlinkFeed, HTC Zoe, Sense TV, Video Highlights, HTC Share, Quick Settings and other improvements. HTC is also offering free 40GB Google Drive space. HTC One would be getting a notification on the Drive app for the free additional storage once it’s upgraded to Sense 5.5 UI. The Sense 5.5 UI update will provide an option of integrating Google+, Instagram and few other social platforms in the BlinkFeed.
Those who haven’t yet got the auto notification can avail the update by going to Settings > About > Software Updates > Check now. However the users of dual SIM variant of HTC One will have to wait a bit longer for the OS update as currently the update is available only for single SIM variants and the same will be available for Dual SIM variants at a later date.
In a related news- HTC will be rolling out the new Android 4.4 edition for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) regions by the end of January whereas the Play edition of the HTC One will be getting the update before 2014.
