The world’s biggest online store Amazon has decided to double the price of its Prime delivery service in India. Rolled out last year for an introductory price of Rs 499, the service offered its customers access to free one-day delivery service at no extra cost.
As per the email from Amazon, customers can purchase the Prime membership at Rs 499 for a few more days. After that, the price is set to be Rs 999 per year. The company has also put up a banner on the website stating that it is the last chance to join the Prime programme for the introductory price.
The Prime membership also gives access to Amazon’s Prime video streaming service. Since Netflix costs at least Rs 600 per month, paying Rs 999 for a year of Prime video isn’t a bad deal. Mostly considering that you are paying for a combination of two services from Amazon.
