Amazon started off as a book-seller before turning into the e-commerce giant we know today. Along the way, it changed the way how we read books with its Kindle e-book reader. The light-weight gadget mimics the real paper to eliminate the glare associated the screens. The Kindle kept on getting better in each iteration, and now it has got a new trick up its sleeve. The latest Kindle dubbed as Kindle Oasis is IPX8 certified. It can survive water submersion at a depth of 2 metres.

The e-book reader features a 7-inch screen. It has a pixel density of 330 ppi. Amazon has introduced a page turning effect that feels more natural compared to previous generation Kindles. There’s an accelerometer, which can auto-rotate the screen based on its position. The reader is also equipped with Audible to read out the audiobooks.

The Kindle Oasis comes in 8 GB and 32 GB storage options. The latter features 3G in addition to Wi-Fi. It is up for pre-order in India and will hit the stores on November 15. The base model is priced at Rs 21,999. The 32 GB model with 3G connectivity will cost you 28,999.
