Xiaomi-backed wearables manufacturer Huami has launched the Huami Amazfit BIP Lite. The latest activity tracker from the Xiaomi stable comes with a very attractive set of features. The smart wearable is aimed at bringing dedicated sport tracking and other specialized functions at a very cost-effective price point. The Huami Amazfit BIP Lite is available for purchase via Amazon India. The smart fitness wearable has been priced at an MRP of Rs. 4,999. However, the activity tracker is presently priced at Rs. 3,999 and is likely to be available at this price for only a limited time period.

The Amazfit BIP Lite packs in a 1.28-inch colour touchscreen display. The always-on display features a Corning’s 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 on top. This enables the device to be protected against a fall, dent or accidental bruise. The display enables the device to multi-function as a smartwatch as it provides a view of time, date, weather updates etc. What’s more, users can also check out the latest news, their appointments set in the calendar, and scroll for notifications of calls, messages, emails etc. They can also check for the push notifications received from compatible apps resident in the user’s smartphone.

The USP feature of the Huami Amazfit BIP Lite is the GPS that seamlessly combines with the three-axis accelerometer, a barometer and a compass. Due to this, users are provided with a holistic location tracker. This includes directional orientation, altitude recording, etc. The smart tracker also includes an optical heart rate sensor which can be set by the users to monitor their heart rate on a constant basis.  The smart wearable also offers sport-specific modes that put all onboard sensors into action to recognize and track specific activities such as running, cycling, exercises, and much more.

 

All these sports modes can generate time-based data on the vital statistics of the body of the users. These statistics include the users heart rate maps which enables the users and their medical practitioners to detect any medical conditions earlier that otherwise. The Amazfit BIP Lite is a compact activity tracker. It comes with a 20mm case and interchangeable straps. The smart fitness tracker weighs only 31 grams hence it is comfortable for users even if they want to wear it for long durations of time. According to Huami, the BIP Lite is powered by a battery of 1,900mAh capacity. The battery comes with a standby life of up to 45 days. However, with the always-on display mode and proportional to the activities tracked, the effective battery life would by much lesser in a single charge.
