Alcatel Launches U5 HD 4G VoLTE Phone For Rs 5,999

Alcatel, a global telecommunications equipment company, is known releasing Android smartphones once in a while. keeping with the tradition, it has unveiled a budget smartphone, the U5 HD in India. The smartphone will go on sale for Rs 5,999 exclusively via Flipkart and will be available in Metallic Black and Metallic Gold.

As the name suggests, the Alcatel U5 HD sports a 5-inch HD display with 1280×720 pixel resolution. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 SoC. The CPU clocked at 1.1 GHz and is coupled with a Mali-T720MP2 GPU. The phone offers 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. That’s a step up from the global variant, which only has half the RAM and storage compared to this variant. It features an expandable memory slot which can take microSD cards up to 128 GB.

In terms of photography, there is a 13 MP sensor on the rear accompanied by the LED flash. The selfie shooter boasts of an 8 MP sensor, which is accompanied by gets an LED flash support.

The Alcatel U5 HD comes in a dual-SIM avatar for India and gets 4G VoLTE support. The phone also gets a sleeve of connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and A-GPS. It runs on Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box. The phone packs in a 2200 mAh battery to keep the device powered on.
