One of the top telecom companies in India, Bharti Airtel has launched its VoLTE services in Maharashtra and Goa circle. So far, the VoLTE services were available in Mumbai, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh.
The Airtel VoLTE services will make use of the 1800 MHz (Band 3) for most of its operation. It will also combine spectrum capacities with 2300 MHz (TD LTE) for providing data speeds of up to 135 Mbps. To enjoy these services, you will need 4G VoLTE compatible handsets Users will be able to call any mobile phone or landline on any network without any additional charges for VoLTE.
The company claims that in case of a network non-availability, the services will switch to 3G and 2G ensuring uninterrupted connectivity. That’s a big plus compared to Jio, which stops working once you are out of 4G zones. Customers with dual-SIM handsets will be required to insert the Airtel SIM in Slot 1, and the network mode to Automatic for seamless network transitions.
