Sony has always been known to have a thing for offering supreme quality camera in all its Smartphone models. Remember the Cyber Shot phone? It was a trend setter, a benchmark so to say for the mobile manufactures to rethink about the cameras in their models. Given that Sony has a reputation to keep pace with the latest trend and combine its technological prowess to create a device that catches the fancy of the consumers, it is no surprise that Sony comes up with yet another masterpiece, Sony Xperia C4, which comes with a flash for the front Camera.
Being the first of its kind in the market, Sony has nonchalantly labelled it as – ‘the best selfie phone ever.’ Now that’s not the only thing that’s makes C4 a delicious piece of cookie. Loaded with Android Lollipop, the device is powered by a 64-bit 1.7 GHz octa-core processor clocked at the speed of 1.7 GHz. Joining the party is an impressive 13 MP rear camera with LED-flash.

Here is the complete specs-sheet.
5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive display
Android 5.0 (Lollipop)
13MP primary camera
5MP secondary camera
16GB internal storage extendable up to 128GB
2 GB RAM
1.7 GHz Octa-Core processor
2600 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery
The Sony Xperia C4 will be available in single as well as dual-SIM variants. However, at the time of this article being written, the exact date of its release is not known. The handset will be up for grabs from the beginning of June. So, you probably need to wait at least for a month, in case you’ve already made up your mind to go grab it.
How is it different?
As talked about earlier, the phone features a powerful 5-MP front-facing camera with flash, which means you get to stand out in photos taken in a dark corner of a bar, or probably during a night-out while you are hanging out with your buddies.
Moreover, the camera features a 25mm lens, which captures a wider screen. As a result, you don’t have to squeeze in together with your friends. The device is presently viewed as a potential rival to the HTC Desire Eye launched last year in November.
Featuring a slightly smaller display at 5.2-inches, the Desire Eye too sports a 13 MP rear camera. The handset comes pre-loaded with Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box, which is upgradable to Android Lollipop.
Let’s have a quick comparison:
HTC Desire Eye
Sony Xperia C4
Android 4.4.4 (KitKat)
Android 5.0 Lollipop
2.3 GHz Quad-Core
1.7 GHz Quad-Core
16GB extendable up to 128 GB
16GB extendable up to 128 GB
2400 mAh Li-Ion
2600 mAh Li-Ion
In terms of the hardware, the two seem to be going head-to-head. However, the C4 seems to be holding an edge over the Desire Eye when it comes to the display size and the battery.
For now this is all that’s known about the upcoming Sony Xperia C4. It is too early to talk about the performance. But, one thing is for sure. With some amazing hardware packed in, it will truly be worth expecting something very cool.
