The Taiwanese brand, Acer has a huge market presence in India’s computer market and the brand is now fully prepared to enter the smart TV segment in the country. In a statement, Acer said that it is partnering with Indkal Technologies for the customer support, development, and distribution aspects, the company is based in Bengaluru. Though the brand has remained silent on the key specs, it has confirmed that it will hold the first-ever launch event in September. With an existing presence in the electronics market where it offers a wide range of laptops, monitors, smart-cameras, smart speakers, etc, Acer is now planning to compete with the big players in the smart TV segment such as TCL, Samsung, Xiaomi, SONY, and more.

The statement from Acer also confirmed that it will launch a wide range of options in terms of screen size and resolution. The company claimed it is going to offer TVs from 32-inch to 70-inch size. The brand will sell the products through a number of offline partners along with e-commerce platforms, Flipkart and Amazon. The Benguluru’s tech firm will reveal further details regarding the pricing and availability quite soon. The VP of Acer’s Global Alliances, Jade Zhou, said in the press note that the brand is quite excited to partner with the Indkal Technologies as it will extend Acer’s mission in India and will deliver Acer-branded hi-tech entertainment to the Indian households.

From the Indkal Technology, CEO Anand Dubey is also seen praising the partnership where he stated that the sales are growing and this surge will remain going up until Diwali. It’s the best opportunity for Acer Televisions to offer a value packed device to the masses and enhance the overall watching experience, he added.

Counterpoint Research has posted a research paper in June where it was found out that the smart TV segment in India has witnessed 55% growth in the Q1 of this year. The market was completely captured by a few players such as Xiaomi, Sony, LG, and Samsung in the Q1. The most significant reason behind this surge is that the products are made available with highly aggressive pricing and people are forced to remain indoors during various lockdowns.
