Acer has launched its newest laptops in the Aspire and Swift series named the Aspire 5s and Aspire Swift 3 or the Aspire 3. The Aspire 5s comes with a 15.7-inch screen whereas the Aspire 3 will be available in two screen sizes – 14-inch and 15.6-inch. The three variants from the Aspire series will however constitute a very narrow bezel to enable users to enjoy a “full cinematic experience”. It comes with a metallic built. The Aspire 5s sports the latest Intel Whiskey Lake processor which is touted to further enhance the performance of the laptops.

As for the specifications of the laptop, the Acer Aspire 5s laptop is powered by 8th-generation Intel Core i3/ i5 processor accompanied by NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics and Intel Optane memory. The 15.7-inch IPS panel of the notebook comes with a Full HD resolution of 1080 pixels and a viewing angle of 178 degrees.

The display screen also supports Acer’s Blue light Shield technology. This is especially significant as the blue-light emission should be controlled so that users can protect their eyes from damage due to extensive use of laptops, mobiles and other such electronic devices.

In terms of connectivity, the Aspire 5s packs in a 2X2 MIMO Wi-Fi 802.11ac in addition to the regular connectivity options. As per the company, the laptop will also sport a precision Touchpad to enable users to seamlessly navigate through the laptop. The laptop weighs 1.45kg and is 18.8mm thick.

The Acer Swift 3 comes with more premium and upgraded specifications. The notebook packs in Intel’s Core 8130U/ 8250U processors that is paired with up to 8GB of RAM, 512GB SSD storage, and Intel Optane memory. It comes in two display variants of 15.6-inch and 14-inch. The display of the Aspire 3s supports full HD and features a resolution of 1,920 x 1080 pixels. It comes with a 178-degree viewing angle. The notebook offers enhanced graphics experience to its users. Its 15.6-inch variant offers the NVIDIA GeForce MX150/ MX 130x graphics card. The notebook offers 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac wireless technology for seamless connectivity. The two variants of the Aspire 3s weigh around 1.45kg.

While not explicitly mentioned in the press release about the launch, Acer claims that the battery capacity of both the laptops can easily last for up to 12 hours. The laptop, the notebook and its variants are pre-loaded with important applications such as Windows Hello, Skype for Business, and Cortana voice assistant. The newly launched Acer laptops run Windows 10 out of the box.

As for the pricing, the Acer Aspire 5s will come with a price tag of Rs 40,999. The Acer Swift 3, the premium laptop with upgraded specs, will cost you much more and will retail at a starting price of Rs 64,999. Both the notebooks will be available for sale across Acer Exclusive stores and can also be bought at leading electronic retail stores and the outlets selling multiple brands.
