Two 5G smartphones from the iQOO are launched in the Indian market. The devices are dubbed as iQOO 7 5G and iQOO 7 Legend 5G. The brand is offering high-specs smartphones bundled at a very aggressive pricing where it will give a direct competition to likes of Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, OnePlus 9, etc.

The display on both the smartphones launched by iQOO here in the Indian market carry high-refresh rate displays of 120Hz. With the top variant going up to 12 gigs of RAM, the devices are powered with top-of-the-line Snapdragon chips. Along with this, iQOO is also offering 66W fast charging and triple-camera setup with 48-megapixel primary lens on both the smartphones.

iQOO 7 and iQOO 7 Legend: Key specs and features

The latest additions to the lineup will feature an AMOLED panel of 6.62” that will produce Full HD+ resolution. The peak brightness on this device will go up to 1,300 nits and a contrast ratio of 6,000,000:1. It will support HDR10+ and a touch sampling rate of 300Hz. The smartphones will also feature MEMC that is basically a game frame interpolation. It’s a smart display chip that will also help in better heat management, low power consumption along with converting SDR into HDR quality. The display panel will also sport an in-display fingerprint scanner and the punch-hole selfie camera is aligned in the top-middle.

The younger sibling iQOO 7 will draw its power from Snapdragon 870 whereas the iQOO 7 Legend will sport Snapdragon 888 chipset. The top variants of both the models offer 12 gigs of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage. The devices are also equipped with extended 3GB memory that is helpful in better gaming. On the battery front, the regular iQOO 7 sports a 4,400 mAh unit whereas iQOO 7 Legend has just a 4,000 mAh unit. The brand has equipped both the devices with 66W fast charging, dubbed as FlashCharge.

The brand has some serious claims that will need to be tested out. It claims that the regular iQOO 7 will take 30 minutes to charge whereas the Legend will be charged in just 22 minutes. The duo also comes with liquid cooling technology for a better heat dispersion.

As iQOO has tried to focus on its gamer user base, there are a few dedicated features. The Legend will come equipped with a dual-linear motor that will enhance the in-game vibrations along with making the smartphone pressure sensitive. Gamers will be able to assign virtual shoulder buttons for certain operations. The latest addition to the iQOO lineup will also come with stereo speaker setup.

Coming to the optics, the duo will house a 16-megapixel selfie camera in their punch-hole cutout. iQOO 7 5G and iQOO 7 Legend will come with a triple-camera system that will come with a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor with OIS support. The primary camera will be paired by a 120-degree 13MP ultra-wide sensor, it will also act as a macro sensor. There will be a 2MP monochrome sensor on the standard iQOO 7 whereas this third sensor will be replaced by a 13MP 50mm portrait shooter. The camera app offers super night mode, super night pano, double exposure, and sports pro mode.

Coming to the software, the iQOO 7 duo will boot on Android 11 with FunTouch OS 11.1 on the top. Other connectivity features are dual SIM, Wi-Fi 6 (Wi-Fi 5 on the standard iQOO 7), 5G support, Bluetooth 5.2 (Bluetooth 5.1 on the standard iQOO 7), dual-GPS, and Type C USB. In a design quirk, both the devices will come with AG Matte display to keep smudges and fingerprints in check.

Pricing and availability

The younger sibling iQOO 7 5G will be available in multiple RAM and storage options such as 8/128GB, 8/256GB, 12/256GB. The trio will be priced at ₹31,990, ₹33,990, and ₹35,990, respectively. The color options will be Storm Ice Blue and Storm Black.

Whereas, the iQOO 7 Legend will only be available in two memory options, 8/128GB and 12/256GB with an affordable pricing of ₹39,990 and ₹43,990, respectively. The Legend edition is in collaboration with BMW M Sport. The design has a tint of BMW M Sport color scheme where the white rear panel has black, red, and blue stripes.

The smartphones will be available only through iQOO’s online store and Amazon IN. The pre-order window will open on May 1 and the sale date will soon be confirmed by the brand. There are also various offers onboard that allow customers to buy iQOO 7 5G at a starting price of ₹27,990. The offers include flat ₹2,000 off on ICICI Bank Credit and EMI transactions along with another ₹2,000 off using Amazon Coupons.

The buyers of iQOO 7 Legend will get pre-order benefits of ₹3,000 off on ICICI Bank credit and EMI transactions along with the same Amazon Coupon discount of ₹2,000. The standard iQOO 7 will be available on 6-month zero-EMI plan whereas the Legend edition will be available at 9-month no-cost EMI.
