Microsoft Announces Surface Pro With LTE Connectivityby Ajinkya October 31, 2017
Microsoft may not have been lucky with mobile phones, but its Surface line-up is getting a good response from consumers. And based on user feedback, it is now adding LTE connectivity to the Surface Pro. With a Cat 9 modem, this convertible is the fastest LTE-enabled laptop in its class. It is compatible with around 20 cellular bands to offer you work flexibility. Like most Microsoft products, it bears a boring name Surface Pro LTE Advanced.
This new Surface will be powered by Intel’s Core i5 processor. User will get to choose from 4 GB RAM and 8 GB RAM models. The 4 GB model will come with 128 GB of SSD (Solid State Drive) storage. The high-end variant with 8 GB RAM will offer 256 GB SSD.
Microsoft claims that using a preproduction model they clocked in up to 17 hours of video playback on a single charge. Testing consisted of full battery discharge during video playback. Test conditions are different from the real world, still you can safely assume it to last for at least 13 to 14 hours before needing a top-up.
The Surface Pro LTE Advanced with 4 GB RAM is priced at $1,149 (approx. Rs 74,000). The 8 GB model will set you back for $1,449 (Rs 93,500).
